Bible, Brews & Christian Liberty: Where Should Believers Draw the Line? - August 19, 2026

Where should Christians draw the line between Christian liberty and Christian witness? On today’s Steve Marston Show, Steve tackles a potentially controversial question after seeing an advertisement for a Bible study being held at a local brewhouse. Is meeting people where they are a creative way to share the Gospel—or can trying to make Christianity more appealing to the culture ultimately dilute its message? Steve discusses alcohol, personal conviction, Christian freedom, our influence on other believers, and why having the freedom to do something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the wisest choice. Ultimately, believers must seek God’s direction while also allowing room for other Christians to follow their own convictions. Plus, Seek & Find takes us into the book of Micah, including judgment, restoration, the prophecy of the coming ruler from Bethlehem, Micah 6:8, and the incredible picture of God’s mercy found in Micah 7:19. Steve also revisits his conversation with Christian recording artist Nicole Lauren, whose unexpected journey into Christian music began when she was discovered while serving on her church worship team. Nicole shares how God led her into songwriting, the story behind her song “My Good Shepherd,” and how difficult seasons strengthened her dependence on Christ. Also on the show: stories about Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy’s baptisms, Lila Rose standing firm on her pro-life message, and legendary guitarist Phil Keaggy’s decision to prioritize faith and family over greater fame and career opportunities. And, of course, there’s a dad joke and Faith Between Your Ears, as we continue memorizing 1 Corinthians 2:9. The Steve Marston Show — Helping You Live More Like Jesus. Can You Prove the Bible Is True? Faith, Evidence & Knowing Why You Believe - August 18, 2026

Can Christians really defend the Bible with evidence—or does following Jesus require believing without asking hard questions? On today’s Steve Marston Show, Steve responds to astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson’s argument that he is “evidence driven more than faith driven.” Rather than running from the challenge, Steve argues that Christians should be prepared to explain why they believe what they believe and why biblical faith is not the same thing as turning off your brain. We also tackle one of the biggest myths about Scripture: Has the Bible been changed over the centuries? Was it passed down like a giant game of telephone until the original message was lost? Steve discusses ancient manuscripts, the original biblical languages, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and why Christians can have confidence that the Bible they read today reliably represents the Scriptures handed down through history. Then Pastor Kody Price joins the show for an encouraging conversation about the realities of bivocational ministry. Kody shares his journey from sensing a call to pastoral ministry as a child to planting a church and balancing a full-time job, ministry, marriage and four children. His perspective on priorities is powerful: ministry matters, but a pastor cannot sacrifice his wife and children trying to do everything for everyone.Kody also shares the difficult early years of planting a church—from meeting with only his family to watching God slowly grow the congregation. His reminder to discouraged pastors and Christians is one worth remembering: In the Kingdom of God, success isn't always measured in thousands. Sometimes it's counted one person at a time.Plus, Steve looks at The Chosen Season 6, a 47-year-old pastor returning to play college football, an incredible faith-filled moment from the Little League World Series, and—of course—the Dad Joke of the Day. Finally, Your Next Step is simple: become an apologist. Not someone who apologizes for Christianity, but someone who knows what they believe, understands why they believe it, and is prepared to give others a reason for the hope they have. Can Revival Really Happen Again? Why Prayer and God’s Word Still Matter- August 17, 2026

Can revival really happen again—and if so, what is keeping the Church from experiencing it? Pastor, author and apologist Joe Manning joins Steve to discuss why revival always begins with prayer, repentance and a renewed commitment to God’s Word. They examine how culture can influence the Church, why some Christians distort Scripture to support personal desires, and how believers can confidently defend the truth of the Bible. Steve also encourages Christians who feel intimidated by Bible study to stop believing that Scripture is too difficult to understand. You don’t need a special degree to know God through His Word—you simply need the willingness to open the Bible, ask God for understanding and begin. Also in this episode: What Paul meant by becoming “all things to all people” Why Christians should meet people where they are The connection between idolatry and sexual immorality Why we shouldn’t give up when prayers seem unanswered How revival begins with personal repentance The importance of pastors rightly dividing God’s Word Encouraging news about the release of missionary Kevin Rideout How churches can help parents protect children from pornography This week’s “Faith Between Our Ears” verse: 1 Corinthians 2:9 A ceiling-fan dad joke that may take a second to land The Steve Marston Show is a daily Christian radio show and podcast helping you live more like Jesus through biblical teaching, discipleship, faith and culture conversations, interviews, encouragement—and a little fun along the way. When It Rains, It Pours: Trusting God When Life Piles Up - August 14, 2026

What do you do when it feels like everything goes wrong at once? Steve kicks off this Fun Friday with a very real story from home: just when one expensive car repair was finally behind him, another car problem showed up. It’s the kind of moment that makes you wonder, “God, why is this happening?” But the struggles of everyday life remind us of something important: God never promised an easy life, but He did promise that we wouldn’t face it alone. When circumstances and emotions change, God and His Word remain the anchor. Then Adam Holtz from Plugged In, a ministry of Focus on the Family, joins Steve for the weekly Fun Friday look at movies, streaming and entertainment. They discuss new releases, family-friendly options, anime, and why parents need to pay attention to what their kids are watching—even when something looks harmless on the surface. They also talk about The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls and how Plugged In can help families make informed entertainment decisions. Plus, Steve takes a trip through the Babylon Bee and its hilarious ideas for getting men to attend Bible study, talks about The Chosen helping Tyler Hubbard's family have conversations about Jesus, shares the Dad Joke of the Day, and wraps up the week's Faith Between Your Ears verse: Hebrews 11:6. And today's Your Next Step: practice greater discernment with your entertainment choices. What we watch, hear and consume matters—and if we want our kids to make wise choices, we need to model those choices ourselves. Deep Water Faith: How to Pursue the Plans God Puts on Your Heart - August 13, 2026

What do you do when you believe God has put something on your heart—but accomplishing it feels overwhelming? Steve opens today’s show with a challenging word from Proverbs 20:5: “The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.” Dreams, goals, callings, and plans aren’t always easy to pursue. Sometimes they require prayer, perseverance, wise counsel, hard work, and the willingness to keep going when you encounter roadblocks. Then Steve introduces a brand-new feature: Bible or Hallmark? Can you tell the difference between a genuine Bible verse and something that just sounds biblical? Test your Bible knowledge—and resist the temptation to Google the answers! Steve’s son Tyler, creator of the 1189 YouTube channel, also joins the show. 1189 is an ambitious project to create a free video commentary for every one of the Bible’s 1,189 chapters. Tyler discusses Acts 21, Paul’s return to Jerusalem, the warnings he received about what awaited him, and Paul’s determination to follow God’s calling even when it could cost him his freedom—or his life. They also preview Acts 22 and Paul’s powerful testimony before the crowd. Plus, Steve talks about the importance of discernment when listening to Christian teachers, shares the Dad Joke of the Day, continues this week’s Faith Between Your Ears with Hebrews 11:6, and closes with Your Next Step: don’t assume “deep water” means you’re headed in the wrong direction. Sometimes following where God leads requires diving deeper. Can Revival Really Happen Again? Finding Faith in the Middle of the Storm - August 12, 2026

Can revival really happen in America again? And what does faith look like when life gives you every reason to question God? On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve looks at encouraging signs of spiritual hunger among young adults and college students across the country. In a culture that can make revival seem impossible, there are signs that a generation is searching for something deeper, authentic, and lasting—and finding that answer in Jesus. Then, Steve sits down with Pastor Michael Loudermilk for an extraordinarily personal conversation about his 7-year-old daughter, Abigail, who is battling an aggressive brain tumor. Michael shares what it means to trust God's sovereignty while simultaneously experiencing grief, confusion, anger, and lament. Rather than offering easy answers, he talks about discovering the language of the Psalms and learning that genuine faith can include crying out to God when you don't understand what He's doing.Michael also shares encouraging news from Abigail's first post-radiation scan and how his family's battle has deepened the faith and relationships within their church community. Plus, Steve explores Jonah and the revival of Nineveh in Seek & Find, talks about Drew Brees publicly sharing his Christian faith, looks at the spiritual hunger being expressed by a younger generation, delivers the Dad Joke of the Day, and continues this week's Faith Between Our Ears memory verse—Hebrews 11:6.And today's Your Next Step is simple but important: pray for revival—and don't give up. Spiritual Warfare Is Real: Surrender, Purpose & Living an Authentic Faith- August 11, 2026

Spiritual Warfare Is Real: Surrender, Purpose & Living an Authentic Faith What does spiritual warfare actually look like in everyday life—and how do you fight back when worry, fear, and pressure begin stealing your peace? On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve gets personal about a middle-of-the-night battle with racing thoughts, stress, and anxiety—and the simple biblical truth that helped him regain his peace: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Sometimes spiritual warfare doesn't look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like the thoughts that keep pulling your attention away from God. Steve also tackles one of Christianity's most repeated myths in That's Not in the Bible: “God helps those who help themselves.” While Scripture certainly doesn't teach laziness, our relationship with God isn't based on our ability to work hard enough, behave well enough, or somehow earn His favor. Grace means learning to stop pushing the boulder uphill and rest in what Christ has already done. Then Steve welcomes Christine Faith, founder of Searcy Living Magazine and the Imagine and Believe Foundation, for a conversation about surrender, calling, foster care, adoption, and recognizing the opportunities God places directly in front of us. Christine shares how launching a magazine with no publishing experience eventually led her into foster care and then into a ministry serving foster and adoptive families. She also describes a defining moment when she finally told God that her business—and its success or failure—belonged completely to Him. Her message is a powerful reminder: You don't need a platform to have a ministry. God has given you gifts, opportunities, and people you can impact right where you are. Later, Taryn Phillips, pastor of The Refuge Church in San Antonio, joins Steve for a wide-ranging conversation about antisemitism, the church's relationship with the Jewish people, spiritual warfare, and what he calls “hospital church”—creating a place where Christians can honestly confess their struggles instead of pretending they have everything together. Plus: • Dad Joke of the Day: Why did Noah never have trouble finding parking?• A powerful perspective on faith and healing from a young woman entering hospice care• Hebrews 11:6 in Faith Between Your Ears• Why genuine Christian community has to make room for confession, restoration, and messy lives• Why God's opinion of you ultimately matters more than everyone else's The Steve Marston Show is a daily journey in learning how to live more like Jesus—combining biblical truth, meaningful conversations, encouragement, and a little fun along the way. Don’t Quit: How God Uses Ordinary People Who Stay in the Fight- August 10, 2026

What happens when you lose momentum, fall back into old habits, or simply feel like you’ve blown it? On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve gets vulnerable about losing momentum in his own life—and the lesson God reminded him of: failure doesn’t mean the fight is over. God offers forgiveness, restoration, and another opportunity to get back up and keep moving. Then, Steve Teal of Very Bold Ministries joins the show to share the incredible story behind the Peanut Butter Bowl. What began with two Texas high schools in 2016 has grown to involve roughly 120 schools, using the excitement of high school football to collect peanut butter and help feed children and families facing food insecurity. Steve also discusses spiritual warfare, the reality of the unseen battle described in Scripture, and why Christians need to understand what the Bible actually teaches about standing against the enemy. Next, Casey Longing, youth pastor at Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe, Arkansas, shares how God has opened doors for him inside public schools. Through biblical character lessons and student-led opportunities, Casey has watched participation grow from a simple table at a school club event to hundreds of students hearing what Scripture says about kindness, forgiveness, character, and hope. Plus, we hear your Sunday Morning Takeaways, talk about the upcoming re-release of Amazing Grace and the legacy of William Wilberforce, discuss Mike Posner publicly sharing his Christian faith, consider Alisa Childers’ warnings about “deliverance influencers,” and learn this week’s Faith Between Our Ears memory verse: Hebrews 11:6. The thread running through all of it is simple: God doesn’t need you to have everything figured out. He wants you to be available. Bring Him what you have. Stay in the fight. Take the next step. And trust God with what happens next. The Steve Marston Show is a daily journey in learning how to live more like Jesus through biblical truth, real conversations, encouragement—and, of course, a dad joke or two.
