Daily Sparkles: Voice Notes

The Dilemmas of Emma

I love sending voice notes to friends, sharing those thoughts that feel too big for text. That's what these are - morning reflections and gentle reminders about finding light in unexpected places. I record these pieces after writing them, sharing thoughts about growth, healing, and discovering magic in the mundane. Some mornings they're polished, other times they're raw - but they're always real. Whether you listen with morning coffee, during an evening walk, or anytime you need a reminder to look for sparkles - I'm happy you're here. The 52 Dates Project: Week 19

In today's episode of Daily Sparkles, I share my latest update on the 52 Dates Project. In this episode, I get a bit vulnerable about where I am in my journey and share some personal news! What I Cover in This Episode: Why I started the 52 Dates Project (2023 was surviving, 2024 was healing, and 2025 is putting that healing into action) My favorite dates so far: joining a fantasy book club, my first post-divorce date, and taking a self-defense class The biggest lesson I've learned: "walking through the door" is always the hardest part How I'm approaching each experience as "data collection" rather than pass/fail Building community through courage and expanding my circle after intentionally keeping it small Finding joy in unexpected places and giving myself permission to be happy A personal update about exploring a new connection with someone who's been in my life for the past two years Favorite Quote: "For the first time in two years, I'm giving myself time to explore this before sharing it on the internet. It feels like growth. It feels like healing. It feels like self-respect." Journal Prompts: Trust & Courage: Think about a moment when you hesitated to walk through a door (literal or metaphorical), but did it anyway. What did you learn about yourself? Selective Vulnerability: Where in your life might you benefit from keeping some things private as they develop? How does it feel to protect something precious while it grows? Finding Joy: What unexpected glimmers have appeared recently that remind you of your capacity for happiness? This is a public episode. Dating Update:

In today's episode, I share an update on my 52 Dates Project after completing the first quarter of this year-long journey. I reflect on what I've learned about myself through putting my healing into action - from dating experiences to attending events solo and joining new groups. What I Cover in This Episode: An explanation of my 52 Dates Project - getting out of my comfort zone 52 times in 2025 How I'm developing true "main character energy" rather than just faking it The surprising ways my relationship with myself has evolved Self-care practices I've noticed doing for dates that I want to continue doing just for me How my list of values for a potential partner has changed and evolved The tension I've discovered between independence and connection My fear of losing myself in relationships and how I'm working through it Challenges with verbalizing my thoughts and needs in the moment Practical takeaways and boundaries I'm implementing Journal Prompts: What self-care practices do I reserve only for special occasions, and what would it feel like to incorporate them into my regular routine just for myself? When have I known something wasn't right for me but struggled to act on that knowledge? What helped me finally trust my intuition? How do my values show up in my daily choices? Which values feel most authentic to who I am now versus who I was in the past? What fear surfaces when I think about balancing independence with connection? What would help me feel more secure in maintaining my identity while being open to partnership? In what ways have my past experiences shaped how I approach new relationships? What patterns am I committed to changing, and what strengths have I developed that I want to bring forward?
