A Girl’s Eye View

The episode on imposter syndrome normalized what I’m going through as a woman in an accelerated program. I just completed CFI and am going through comm multi right now. I should feel so much more confident, I’ve passed 4 checkrides, put myself through college before this, have achieved many things before even going into aviation and STILL wonder when it’s going to be my turn to feel like I can embody the confident person I know I need to be in order to be a CFI. I struggle with the PIC mindset and have felt isolated this whole past year. I don’t have the bravado that all the guys at my center seem to have. The imposter syndrome is heightened now that I’m about to step into a teaching role and what it comes down to is not feeling worthy of this new position I’ve found myself in. It’s like my mind hasn’t caught up to the success even though I deserve to be here. Thank you for sharing your perspectives on this, I know it will be a constant push and pull to get there but it’s comforting to know that it’s normal and to keep going.
