Do you want to connect deeper with your husband? Is he too laid-back or passive, and you feel like you NEED to do EVERYTHING? Is this affecting intimacy in your marriage? How can you connect when you feel like you’re always carrying the weight of the whole family on your shoulders? Girl, you are in the right place! Welcome to the Connected Christian Wife podcast where I give you the strategies you need to lay down the mental load and be physically and emotionally connected with your husband, so you can have intimacy in your marriage - EVEN with kids! Hey, I’m Jennifer. A wife, mom of two littles, and a daughter of the King. For the first three years of our marriage, my husband and I struggled to connect. You see, my man is one of the most laid-back people I know, and I felt like if I didn’t take control in our home, things would fall apart., We don’t live in the same country as our families, so we do not have the luxury of dropping the kids at grandma’s house so we can go on dates, or even have a break. This left me stressed, burnt out, angry and resentful. Which only made us pull further away from each other. I finally decided to surrender and seek God’s guidance. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, I realised I was carrying too much. The pressure and weight on my shoulders was causing a strain in my marriage. And what happened next FLOORED me! I felt emotionally safe to voice my needs. My husband stepped up, and he started to take the initiative in our family and our marriage. This has helped make space for us to spend more quality time together - without kids, TV, or scrolling on our phones. We are back to being best friends with ALL the benefits! No more being roommates, baby!! Friend, I want the same for you too. If you desire to have quality time with your husband, without the kids shouting “Mom. Mom. Mom.” for the hundredth time today, and you want to turn off, and not feel like you are carrying the weight of the whole family on your shoulders, this podcast is for you!
