Blind Faith, Bold Moves w/ Alise Samantha

Welcome back to The Milky Ministries Podcast! This week's Show Up Boldly in Transition guest is Alise Samantha, CEO of Slammin' Made Entertainment, a filmmaker, actress, and single mom who just wrapped writing, directing, and producing her first feature film solo, in a 4-day shoot. Using our GLOW Framework (Gratitude, Living in the Moment, Open Journaling, Words of Affirmation), Alise and JustB.Spriggs get into what it actually took to trust the process from leaving dental school after a car accident, through a divorce, to building the "village" that finally let her put her own foot on her own neck and just make the thing. And congratulations are in order: Alise also shared some exciting personal news with us she's expecting! She talked about how she's already thinking through balancing motherhood with her growing career. In this episode you'll hear: • Why leaving dental school after a car accident became the redirection that led Alise into film • How her son telling her to "stop being a follower" pushed her to finally shoot her own project • Why building a real support system people who correct you, not just cheer you on took years, not days • A journaling prompt for anyone who feels stuck: just take the first step • The affirmation Alise leans on in hard seasons: "God is within her, so she will not fail" • Her exciting personal news and how she's thinking about balancing motherhood with her growing career Connect with Alise Samantha / Slammin' Made Entertainment Instagram: @slamminmade Alise Samantha on Facebook Streaming: Catch Alise in My Sister's Killer Boyfriend and The One That Got Away, both on Tubi Show Up for the Show • Subscribe or follow so you don't miss the rest of Season 2 • Leave a rating & review it helps other faith-driven entrepreneurs find us linktr.ee/b.spriggs Cool Carl and the HVAC Heroes by Marcus Spriggs: Buy it here • Comment below: what's the one small step you've been putting off?

Find Your Rhythm, Love What You DO Part II w/ Tonya Wilson

This one's a throwback. Before Season 2 of The Milky Ministries Podcast, there was a different project a series of "Activate" interviews built to spotlight mompreneurs and creatives. This is the very first one ever recorded, and it felt right to finally share it. In this conversation, Chef Tonya Wilson of Custom Chef of North Carolina a Mebane, NC-based personal chef who builds fully customized meals around her clients' dietary needs talks through how her business was born out of necessity (one income, two kids 18 months apart, and a love of cooking that grew out of farmers-market trips), the self-taught lessons that shaped how she runs things, and the biggest thread running through the whole episode: finding your own rhythm instead of chasing someone else's. It's a slower, more reflective conversation than usual equal parts business talk and faith talk about loving what you're called to do so much that you stop counting the hours. In this episode you'll hear: How a season of being a broke stay-at-home mom turned into a custom cooking business The self-taught business lessons Tonya picked up working for other small businesses first Why "custom" means staying small on purpose instead of chasing scale Her vision for the brand teaching families and other cooks how to get more real, non-processed food onto kids' plates Why she believes if you truly love what you do, you stop counting the hours The idea that opens the episode's theme: everyone has their own rhythm, and finding yours (not copying someone else's) is what lets you relax into the work How she works through fear using faith, and what she leans on when she feels uninspired Her definition of success and why writing your goals down matters so you can actually recognize when you've hit them A real, unfiltered walk through a typical day: mornings, kid logistics, deciding what's a "fire" and what's a distraction, and protecting a little space to breathe How she parents five kids differently on purpose, and what that's taught her about giving people what they actually need instead of what's easiest to give Where she's pouring into other women locally, and what her business looks like today, including a peek into her home canning process Connect with Chef Tonya Wilson / Custom Chef of North Carolina Website: customchefnc.com — please confirm this is current before publishing Location: Mebane, NC (serving the Raleigh–Durham area) Instagram: not confirmed — hold until verified Show Up for the Show Subscribe or follow so you catch Season 2 the moment it drops Leave a rating & review — it helps other mompreneurs find us Join the email list (tap "Stay Connected") + find every link in one place: linktr.ee/b.spriggs Feeling stuck on your own schedule or rhythm?
