What If You’re Capable of More Than You Think?

In this episode of the 100xLife Podcast, Rob Dayton takes listeners through a powerful coaching session designed to challenge one of the biggest obstacles to spiritual growth: familiarity. Too often, we hear truth we’ve heard before and immediately stop engaging. We assume we already know it, stop applying it, and unknowingly stunt the transformation Jesus is inviting us into. Rob unpacks why this mindset quietly fuels complacency in the church and introduces a better question that can reshape how we approach growth: What am I capable of? From marriage and parenting to stewardship, work, mindset development, and our ability to love, this episode challenges believers to stop settling for doing “just enough” and start pursuing the full capacity God designed them for. Because following Jesus was never meant to be passive agreement. It was always meant to transform who you become. If you’ve been feeling stagnant in your faith or ready to grow deeper in your walk with Jesus, this episode will challenge you to think bigger about what God may be calling you into next. You’ll Hear • Why familiarity is one of the biggest barriers to spiritual growth• How passive church attendance can quietly create complacency• Why hearing truth is not the same as transformation• The dangerous habit of saying “I’ve heard this before”• How to replace low performance thinking with a growth mindset• Why the question What am I capable of? changes everything • How to evaluate your growth in marriage, parenting, work, stewardship, and relationships• Why God’s ultimate purpose is developing our capacity to love Journal Prompts • Holy Spirit, reveal an area of growth that I’m dismissing because I’ve heard it before. • Father, show me what I’m capable of in this area of growth. The Mindsets That Shape Your Life | With Chad Erlenborn & Daniel Girdler

In this episode, Rob Dayton sits down with two close friends, fellow Master’s Program graduates, and longtime brothers in the journey of spiritual formation: Chad Erlenborn, a pastor and leadership coach, and Daniel Girdler, a realtor and business leader passionate about intentional living. Together, they dive deep into one of the most transformational aspects of following Jesus: mindset. Building on the recent Mindsets of Jesus series, Rob and his guests unpack why true transformation begins not with behavior modification, but with learning how to think differently. They explore how deeply ingrained thought patterns shape our emotions, relationships, faith, and response to suffering, and why renewing the mind may be one of the most important disciplines for anyone serious about spiritual growth. Daniel shares a powerful analogy from his ACL recovery, comparing mindset transformation to painful physical therapy. Just as scar tissue must be broken apart for healing and freedom, old patterns of thinking often require discomfort before lasting change can happen. Chad brings practical examples from marriage, forgiveness, and leadership, showing how simple shifts in perspective can radically transform relationships. From learning to “be the dog” in marriage to reframing difficult circumstances through the lens of eternity, the conversation stays deeply practical while remaining rooted in the teachings of Jesus. The episode closes with a powerful reminder that life is not random chaos. Jesus has given us a framework for transformation. Through intentional mindsets, practiced daily, we learn to think with love, endure suffering with hope, and ultimately live the abundant life He promises. If you’ve ever wondered how to actually change the way you think and experience deeper transformation as a follower of Jesus, this conversation is packed with practical wisdom worth revisiting. You’ll Hear • Why mindset is foundational to following Jesus• How suffering becomes the “gym” where transformation happens• Practical mindset shifts that strengthen marriage and relationships• Why eternal perspective changes how we live today• How forgiveness becomes possible through Christ’s sacrifice• Why Jesus gives us a framework for lasting transformation Journal Prompts • Holy Spirit, what mindset do I need to be working on right now? • Where in my life are You asking me to change the way I think so I can live more like Jesus? Mindsets of Jesus Finale: Why Did God Create Life This Way?

In this episode, Rob Dayton wraps up the 10-part Mindsets of Jesus series by revisiting the foundational beliefs that shape the way we think, live, and follow Christ. From believing in Jesus and living as one led by Him to overcoming worry, embracing forgiveness, and living with an eternal perspective, Rob reflects on how these mindsets transform everyday life when they move beyond information and become hardwired beliefs. He also introduces a powerful mindset that could have easily made the list: gratitude. Drawing from personal experience, neuroscience, and health data, Rob explains why thankfulness may be one of the fastest ways to reinforce godly thinking and reshape the brain. The episode concludes with a deeper reflection on why God designed life the way He did. Why time? Why relationships? Why marriage, family, and growth? Rob shares his conviction that the ultimate purpose behind it all is learning how to love like God. If you've followed the Mindsets series or want a practical framework for growing in spiritual maturity, this episode offers both a helpful summary and a powerful challenge for what comes next. You'll Hear • A recap of the 10 Mindsets of Jesus• Why following Jesus is the pathway to abundant life, not sacrifice• How gratitude reinforces and accelerates spiritual growth• The connection between thankfulness and physical well-being• How to identify mindset shifts that strengthen your God-given responsibilities• Why God designed life around the opportunity to learn love• Practical ways to continue applying the Mindsets of Jesus in everyday life Journal Prompts • Holy Spirit, what mindset would most strengthen the role You've entrusted to me right now? • What mindset would most accelerate my growth in this area and help me love more like Jesus? Mindsets (Part 10): Eternity Is My Reality

In this episode, Rob Dayton explores the final mindset of Jesus and one he believes may be among the most important: Eternity is my reality. Most people live with a limited earthly mindset, measuring life through decades, accomplishments, possessions, and temporary concerns. But Jesus invites us into something far bigger. Rob unpacks how an eternal mindset reshapes fear, priorities, relationships, and purpose. He challenges the cultural and even church tendency to think only within the boundaries of earthly life and invites listeners to begin living from heaven's reality now. Drawing from scripture, practical teaching, and research surrounding near-death experiences, Rob explains why eternity is not something that begins after death, but a present reality that transforms how we think and live today. He also shares personal reflections about obedience, stewardship, and loosening earthly attachments while offering practical ways to retrain the mind toward heaven, love, and eternal purpose. If you've ever struggled with fear, felt consumed by temporary concerns, or wondered how to live with greater peace and purpose, this episode will stretch your imagination and challenge your perspective. You’ll Hear • Why Rob considers the eternal mindset one of the most important mindsets of Jesus• How the earthly mindset quietly shapes fear, priorities, and decision-making• Why eternity begins now, not simply after death• The difference between living from earth versus living from heaven• What Jesus teaches about reward, stewardship, and storing up treasures in heaven• Why relationships and love matter most in eternity• Rob's personal story of releasing attachment and stewarding resources for the Kingdom• How near-death experiences and scripture together can shape an eternal perspective• Practical ways to meditate on heaven and retrain your thinking toward eternity Journal Prompt • Jesus, describe heaven and its importance. • Holy Spirit, what dominant behavior pattern of mine is inconsistent with the reality of eternity? Mindsets (Part 9): God Is Working All Things for My Good

In this episode, Rob Dayton unpacks one of the most powerful and practical mindsets of Jesus: God is working all things together for my good. Life rarely unfolds the way we want. Delays, disappointment, difficult circumstances, and unanswered questions can quickly pull us toward frustration, fear, or negativity. But Jesus offers another way. Rob shares a personal story of travel delays that became an unexpected opportunity for peace, productivity, and joy. From there, he explores how mindset shapes everything we experience and why your brain is constantly reinforcing whatever you choose to focus on. Using the science of the reticular activator and the truth of Romans 8:28, Rob explains how God designed the mind to work and why believing God's goodness changes how you see every situation. This is not about pretending hard things are easy. It is about learning to recognize God's faithfulness and retraining your thinking to see opportunities for growth, peace, and purpose. If you've been frustrated by circumstances, discouraged by setbacks, or struggling to trust God's direction, this episode will challenge and encourage you. You’ll Hear  Why your circumstances do not have to control your peace  How mindset shapes what you notice, feel, and believe  What the reticular activator is and why it matters spiritually  The difference between focusing on the flesh versus the Spirit  How Romans 8:28 becomes practical in everyday life  Why two people can experience the same situation and see completely different outcomes  Rob's story of obedience in selling his dream home and what God revealed through it  Simple practices to rewire your thinking toward God's goodness and faithfulness  Journal Prompt  Papa God, show me a negative situation from my past in which you worked it out for my good.  Spend time in focused thankfulness, remembering ways God has already worked difficult circumstances together for your good. Links 📘 100xLife Book → https://100xlife.com 🙌 Join the next Challenge → https://100xlife.com/challenge 📱 Instagram → @100xlifemovement Chapters 00:00 Welcome to the 100X Life Podcast 00:36 Mindset #9: God Is Working All Things Together for My Good 03:10 Transforming Frustration Into Opportunity 06:17 Why Mindset Shapes Your Daily Life 08:55 Understanding the Reticular Activator 11:58 God's Purpose in Difficult Circumstances 14:36 Obedience and the Eternal Mindset 17:10 Practicing the Mindset of Goodness 20:11 Journaling, Thankfulness, and Rewiring the Mind

Mindsets (Part 8): Worry is Faith in the Enemy

In this episode, Rob Dayton breaks down one of the sneakiest and most normalized mindsets we carry: worry. Or more specifically… why worry is actually faith in the enemy. Most people think worry is just being responsible, cautious, or realistic. But Jesus paints a very different picture. Worry pulls us out of the present where love exists and traps us in imagined futures that haven’t even happened. It trains the brain to expect fear, rehearse bad outcomes, and slowly lose trust in the goodness of God. Rob unpacks how mindset formation actually works, why your brain can say “no” while your spirit says “yes” to Jesus, and how worry quietly hardwires unbelief into your life. This episode is about learning how to stop rehearsing fear and start retraining your mind toward hope, gratitude, peace, and trust in God’s promises.  You’ll Hear  Why Rob says “worry is faith in the enemy”  How worry chokes out the words of Jesus  The connection between imagination and mindset formation  Why your brain naturally rehearses fear  How thankfulness helps reprogram your mind  The difference between faith in God and faith in worst-case scenarios  Why worry keeps you from peace, creativity, and trust  Practical ways to capture anxious thoughts before they spiral  How gratitude becomes a weapon against fear  Journal Prompts  Jesus, why is worry so unhealthy for me?  Holy Spirit, what worries am I rehearsing right now?  What can I become grateful for instead? Links 📘 100xLife Book → 100xLife 🙌 Join the next Challenge → 62-Day Challenge 📱 Instagram → @100xlifemovement Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Mindsets03:10 Understanding Worry as Faith in the Enemy06:10 The Impact of Worry on Faith08:35 Reprogramming the Brain Against Worry11:21 Mindsets to Combat Worry13:33 Practicing Thankfulness to Overcome Worry16:36 Journaling Prompts for Mindset Transformation

Mindsets (Part 7): Unforgiveness Is a Cancer

In this episode, Rob Dayton breaks down one of the most freeing and most difficult mindsets of Jesus: forgiveness. Or more specifically… why unforgiveness is a cancer. Jesus talks about forgiveness way more seriously than most of us do. We tend to justify resentment, replay offenses, and hold people hostage in our minds without realizing what it’s doing to us. But Jesus paints a different picture. Unforgiveness shuts down love. It re-empowers the enemy. It keeps us stuck in judgment and bitterness. And according to Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant, it puts us in jail right alongside the person we refuse to forgive. Rob walks through why forgiveness is not weakness, why grace is the operating system of love, and how to start retraining your mind to see people the way Jesus sees them. This is not about pretending people didn’t hurt you. It’s about learning how to stay free while still living in a broken world. You’ll Hear  Why Rob calls unforgiveness “a cancer”  The terrifying warning Jesus gives in Matthew 18  How unforgiveness re-empowers a defeated enemy  Why forgiveness is actually freedom  The difference between justice and personal unforgiveness  How to identify hidden resentment in your heart  Why Jesus still sees people as holy and blameless  The mindset shift that opens your heart back up to love Journal Prompt  Holy Spirit, who am I holding resentment toward?  Papa God, why do you love this person so much? Mindsets (Part 6): I Am a Servant to All

In this episode, Rob Dayton breaks down one of the most counterintuitive mindsets of Jesus that almost no one actually lives out. If you want to be great, become a servant. Jesus doesn’t shut down the desire for greatness. He redirects it. While the world teaches you to get, climb, and compete, Jesus flips it and says the path forward is serving everyone around you. Rob walks through how our brains are wired for self-serving behavior and why most people live in a quiet, transactional mindset without realizing it. Then he shows how to retrain your thinking so service becomes natural, not forced. This is not about being “nice.” This is about rewiring your life around love in action. If you’ve been focused on what you can get, overlooked opportunities to serve, or felt stuck in self-focused patterns, this will challenge you in the best way. You’ll Hear  - Why Jesus doesn’t reject the desire for greatness but redefines it   - How a transactional mindset is shaping your relationships   - The hidden reason your brain defaults to self-serving behavior   - What it actually means to live as a servant in everyday life   - How to align your talent, passion, and purpose into a life of service   - Why love is not real unless it is expressed through action   - A simple question that will shift how you show up in every situation   - How small moments of service rewire your thinking over time  Journal Prompt - Papa God, when you created me, what kind of service to others were you thinking about?  - Holy Spirit, give me the power to transform the way I think about serving others.  Links 📘 100xLife Book → https://100xlife.com 🙌 Join the next Challenge → https://100xlife.com/challenge 📱 Instagram → @100xlifemovement Chapters 00:00 Welcome to the 100X Life Podcast00:36 Why transformation starts with how you think 07:22 Recap of the Mindsets of Jesus 14:02 The battle between what you want and what you naturally do 21:42 The servant mindset explained 28:42 Why we default to transactional thinking 35:21 Practicing service in everyday moments
