    E79: In The Middle a Wake

    Just 22 hours after Cal's mom passed away, we found ourselves surrounded by family during a wake unlike anything we'd ever experienced. People flew in from all over the country, and what unfolded was one of the most beautiful displays of humanity we've ever witnessed. This episode is about the strange, sacred space that exists the day after loss - where tears and laughter somehow live side by side. We talk about the healing that comes from being together, sharing stories, crying openly, and allowing every emotion to have a seat at the table. One of the most powerful parts of the conversation was watching the men in our family fully embrace their emotions instead of hiding them. There was no pretending to be strong - just honest grief, deep love, and a willingness to feel it all. We're also joined by Aunt Shauna, Cal's mom's sister and best friend. Seeing her sitting across from us - looking so much like Jana - made this conversation even more special. Together, we reflect on love, loss, family, and what it means to carry someone forward after they're gone. If you've ever wondered what grief really looks like, this episode is it. Messy. Beautiful.     E78 - 24 Hours After Mastecomy - No Hiding Here

    The day after surgery probably wasn’t the best time to hit record… which is exactly why we did it. 😂 In this episode, Caley is fresh out of surgery, still feeling the effects of the anesthesia and pain medication, and let’s just say… the conversation moves at a slightly slower pace than usual. Between the laughs, though, are some very real moments. We talk about what this surgery felt like compared to previous ones in Caley’s cancer journey. Instead of the excitement that came with hearing “cancer-free,” this recovery brought more pain, more emotion, and a heavier heart as she supported her mom through her cancer journey. Sometimes healing isn’t just physical—it’s wrapped up in everything else life is asking you to carry. And some can feel the pain from one hospital to another.     E77: The Quickie...a sexipode

    We planned on recording a short episode… and somehow a quickie led directly into talking about sex. From first kisses and awkward first times to the reality of intimacy after kids, we share stories, laughs, and a few things we probably never imagined we’d discuss on a podcast. We even debated whether this episode should ever see the light of day, knowing full well some of our family members are listening. But beneath all the laughter is an important conversation about connection. Life gets busy. Parenting gets exhausting. Relationships evolve. Yet making time for intimacy, even when it’s not perfect or glamorous, can play a powerful role in keeping couples connected. Caley shares the frustrating reality of navigating her mom’s cancer journey and a hospitalization filled with miscommunication, delays, and mistakes. Pure chaos. 😂 In this episode, Cal and Megs attempt to uncover where some of our favorite sayings came from—and quickly discover that we’re far more confident than we are correct.
