Especially the Lies: Star Trek Deep Space Nine Podcast

I found this group when they were doing a show similar to this about Babylon 5. When they moved on to my favorite Trek show I knew I had to listen. I look forward to a new episode every week. I cried with them when Scott passed away. You guys are amazing! The show keeps me entertained and makes me laugh. They are still in season 2 at this point and I'm looking forward to the upcoming seasons.

This is a great show! Very good reviews and analysis on of the best shows out there, especially if you like science fiction. While they do tend to go off the rails like that’s the goal, it’s worth the ride. The passengers all survive! Good insights, good trivia, good listen.

Remember that episode on The West Wing where Josh clowns the lady for wearing the Star Trek pin? Now imagine the lady from that episode and her friends all recorded their conversations about Star Trek. It is an entertaining show. Annoying at times but entertaining. The additional research on the history of the show and franchise exceptional. In all, I would recommend this (except for season 5 of B5. Nothing can save that. I tried I really did.).

I want to enjoy a weekly DS9 podcast to accompany a rewatch but sadly this isn’t it. Jessie, especially, is a self-centered, narcissistic, self-absorbed twit who is insufferable to listen to. It turns out that DS9 is all about her! And all the protagonists are just like her, except she’s better! Every aspect of the show reminds her of her! Ugh, it’s a waste of your time to listen to this woman talk about herself in this grating, self-aggrandizing way. The rest of the cast is decent, but there’s too much chit chat and unfunny in-jokes. You have to skip 10 minutes into the episode before they even start talking about DS9, and they easily get sidetracked into giggling about each other. Too much blather, not enough content… overall a waste of time.
