The Resting Place

Elom

This is a podcast for the woman who is tired in a way that sleep cannot fix. You love God. You show up. You hold it all together. And somewhere underneath all of it, your soul is quietly exhausted. The Resting Place is a weekly podcast of scripture, reflection, and prayer created for the woman who is ready to stop performing and start returning to the heart of God. Every episode we open the Word together, sit with it slowly, and close in prayer spoken directly over you. No rush. No pressure. No performance. Just come as you are and lay it down. New episodes every week. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 Hosted by Elom Ayayee.

    When God says come.

Send us Fan Mail Episode 3: When God Says Come When was the last time you came to God and actually expected something to happen? Not hoped, quietly. Not wished, vaguely. But came the way a child runs into her father's arms, certain she will be received. In this episode, Elom sits inside Matthew 11:28-30 the verse that anchors everything about The Resting Place and unpacks it word by word. Not as a familiar quote you've heard a hundred times, but as a personal letter, written specifically for the woman who has been faithful for so long that she has quietly stopped expecting God to meet her. She shows up. She prays. She reads the Word. But somewhere along the way, disappointment did what disappointment does it lowered her expectations without her even noticing. She is still coming. She has just stopped expecting. This episode is for her. We walk through every word of Jesus' invitation come, weary, burdened, rest, yoke, gentle, easy, light  and discover what it truly means that the God we are coming to is gentle and humble in heart, and that His burden is light. We close with an invitation to come to God this week not when you feel ready, not when you've processed everything but now, as you are, expecting Him to meet you there. In this episode: A word-by-word walk through Matthew 11:28-30 the scripture at the heart of The Resting PlaceWhy so many faithful women have quietly stopped expecting God to respondWhat it really means that Jesus describes Himself as gentle and humble in heartThe difference between the yoke that is breaking you and the yoke Jesus offersA practical prompt to help you come to God this week with renewed expectationA prayer spoken over the woman who has been showing up but feeling farSupport the show

    You Are Not Behind

Send us Fan Mail You are not behind in God's timeline. But the lie that you are has been sitting on your chest for a long time and today we are addressing it directly. In this episode, Elom opens Psalm 23 verses 1 through 3 and unpacks what it truly means to have the Lord as your shepherd. Not your taskmaster. Not your judge. Your shepherd the one whose entire job is to lead you, protect you, and make sure you lack nothing you were supposed to have by now. But before we get to the truth, we have to name the lies. And in this episode Elom names every single battle the exhausted woman is fighting the comparison that steals her joy, the perfectionism that tells her she is never enough, the busyness that has tied her worth to her output, and the people pleasing that has made her a stranger to her own voice. She is fighting all four. Simultaneously. Every single day. No wonder she feels behind. This episode is for the woman who has been running a race that was never designed for her to win because it was never her race to run. It is an invitation to stop. To let the shepherd lead. And to receive, perhaps for the first time, the soul rest that only He can give. We open in Psalm 23 and close in prayer spoken directly over the woman who has been measuring herself against everyone else's timeline but God's. In this episode: The four battles every exhausted woman is fighting at once and why none of them were hers to fightA deep dive into Psalm 23:1–3 and what it means that He makes you lie downWhy your worth was never in what you do and what God says it is actually inA practical rest prompt to carry into your weekA prayer spoken over the woman who is tired of feeling like she is falling behind "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." — Psalm 23:1–3 Support the show
