Motherhood Doesn't Pause for Chronic Illness w/ Lauren Reisner

How to care for your children while learning to care for yourself. Lauren Reisner is a former lawyer turned full-time writer and mom of two — ages 9 and 11. Her transition out of law was largely driven by her chronic illness and the ongoing work of building a life that is healthy for both her and her family. Through her Substack, Molten Crystal, she writes personal essays that blend self-reflection, psychology, and a researcher's instinct for going deep. Her work examines how we understand ourselves — why we think the way we think, why we do the things we do, and what happens when we're finally willing to look closely. She also works as a memoir and narrative ghostwriter, helping people make sense of the stories they’ve lived and put them into words. Your Baby's Brain Development Starts Earlier Than You Think w/ Emily Roper

Why a mother's health before pregnancy can shape a child's development long before birth. Emily Roper is a Neuro-Developmental Delay Therapist and a certified Midwives Assistant. She owns Early Roots which is a specialized therapy practice for children with developmental delays. She has an educational background in psychology, midwifery, and neuro-developmental delay. Emily has spent over a decade helping children with ADHD, autism, anxiety, dyslexia, sensory challenges, and other developmental delays. Athena, Medusa, and the Modern Woman w/ Kayla Branstetter

Exploring the ancient stories that still shape how women see themselves today. Kayla Branstetter is an English Instructor at Crowder College, where she teaches literature, creative nonfiction, and composition. She is a published writer with work appearing in more than forty journals worldwide and the author of a creative nonfiction book. A TEDx speaker and educator, her work centers on women’s health, narrative medicine, reproductive trauma, and the cultural expectations placed on women’s bodies and resilience. She is currently completing a Doctorate of Education in Healthcare with research focused on narrative medicine in women’s healthcare. Her forthcoming book, Don’t Be an Athena, examines reproductive health, medical gaslighting, and the myth of silent endurance through storytelling, research, and at times, dark humor. Don’t Be an Athena is a book and advocacy platform that uses creative nonfiction, research, and lived experience to examine women’s reproductive health, infertility, medical gaslighting, and trauma. It challenges the cultural myth that women should “power through” pain without complaint, offering a more compassionate, narrative-driven model for healthcare and self-worth. The project supports education, dialogue, and systemic change around women’s bodies and voices.
