    Dealing with the Daily Negative

Sometimes the hardest part of dealing with negativity isn't the big stuff. It's the constant, everyday negative that creeps into work, conversations, and even our own thoughts. This week, we're talking about what happens when you're already dealing with enough negativity in your own life and then find yourself around someone who seems to see the negative in everything. We've both had moments in our lives where we realized that if we constantly focus on what's going wrong, that's all we're going to see. So how do you find the good when the negative is right there? Sometimes it's choosing to enjoy the view before the trash truck comes along and ruins it. Sometimes it's changing your own perspective. And sometimes, it's simply saying, "I can't handle your negative right now," and putting up a boundary. Because you can't always control what's happening around you, or what other people choose to focus on. But you can decide what you're going to give your attention to. Another week of figuring out adulthood, one attitude adjustment at a time. Anger Management

Anger looks a little different for everyone. This week on Adulthood is a Project, we're talking about how we handle anger, and it turns out we approach it VERY differently. Charlie shares a situation where she completely lost her cool on a co-worker and then spent time afterward wishing she had handled it more calmly. K.C. has had almost the opposite experience, staying calm in the moment and later wishing she had reacted a little more. So which way is right? Well... maybe neither of us has it completely figured out. 😂 We talk about how we would like to handle those moments, what we can learn from them, and why beating yourself up afterward probably isn't helping much either. Maybe sometimes the win is recognizing that you handled something better than your past self would have. And maybe the next step is simply taking what happened as another opportunity to grow. Because we're not going to handle every situation perfectly. We're still learning, still growing, and hopefully getting a little better along the way. Living The Lessons We're Still Learning

We knew this lifestyle was going to be different. We just didn't realize how different it would actually be. This week on Adulthood is a Project, we're talking about daily reality, the things we expect, and the moments when life decides to throw the entire schedule out the window. From changing plans three times in one day to preparing for a possible evacuation when you thought you were getting a quiet day off, workamping life has a way of keeping us on our toes. We'll talk about those days when staying positive feels like a full-time job, how Charlie was feeling grateful and blessed while K.C. was struggling to find that same perspective, and the things we miss about our old lives, including sitting on the couch with absolutely nothing to do. We're revisiting our conversation about expectation versus reality, but this time we're looking at what happens when reality is our everyday life. Because the truth is, we're not just talking about life lessons. We're living them while we're still learning them. Come laugh with us, commiserate with us, and figure out adulthood one unexpected plot twist at a time. The Lindsay Clancy Trial: Where Do We Draw the Line?

The Lindsay Clancy trial has officially ended in a mistrial after a jury could not reach a unanimous decision, leaving one very uncomfortable question hanging in the air: what should happen now? This week, we're talking about the case, the jury's deadlock, mental health, postpartum psychosis, and the very different opinions people have about what justice should look like. We talk about whether Lindsay Clancy's mental health was being taken seriously, the role her family and husband played in trying to help her, and why this case feels so different from how similar cases were viewed 20 or 30 years ago. We also look back at the Susan Smith case and another heartbreaking case where a woman was hospitalized for mental illness, later released, had more children, and ultimately killed them too. And because we're still us, we manage to find a little humor in a very heavy conversation, including KC's very straightforward opinion on where Lindsay Clancy should be right now. 😂 In the end, we're just thankful we're not the people sitting in that jury room trying to make a decision that could determine the rest of someone's life. At this point, it feels like the trial has become almost as much a public opinion trial as a legal one. Lesson Learned: Sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing what you think. It's knowing what the right thing actually is. And maybe our other lesson is... save your money for a really good lawyer. 😬 Brands we recommend: Find The Good Brand - use the link below to shop their products. https://findthegoodbrand.com/?ref=adulthood Use coupon code “ADULTHOOD10” at check out to receive 10% OFF Want to launch your own podcast or grow the one you have? Dinner...Again?

Why is figuring out what to eat every single day one of the most exhausting parts of being an adult? 😂 This week, we’re talking about something incredibly ordinary that somehow becomes a full-time job: meals. Cooking can start to feel like a chore. Eating out gets expensive. And somehow, even eating at home can cost more than you expected. Add living remotely and having to plan meals for two weeks at a time, and the question of “What’s for dinner?” gets a whole lot more complicated. But we’re also talking about the ways we’ve found to bring a little joy back into it. From finding new recipes through reels to appreciating the fresh vegetables we’re getting instead of grabbing fast food, sometimes a small change in perspective can make the everyday stuff feel a little less mundane. And then there are the completely random community meals that happen around here, where food becomes less about planning the perfect dinner and more about coming together and enjoying what we have. Because maybe meals don't have to be exciting every night. Maybe sometimes it’s about finding the little things that make the routine worth doing. So... what’s for dinner? Again? 🍽️ Brands we recommend: Find The Good Brand - use the link below to shop their products. https://findthegoodbrand.com/?ref=adulthood Use coupon code “ADULTHOOD10” at check out to receive 10% OFF Want to launch your own podcast or grow the one you have? When Did Everything Become Offensive?

When did everything become offensive? This week, we’re talking about the ever-growing list of things people seem to find inappropriate, offensive, or worth getting upset about. From wearing a bikini in a video to simply doing things differently, it sometimes feels like we’ve forgotten how to let people just be people. We talk about how we were raised, why we don’t tend to get offended by every little thing, and whether some people use being “offended” as a way to feel morally superior to someone else. But underneath all of that is a bigger question: Why do we take so much personally? Maybe not everything needs a reaction. Maybe not everything needs to be corrected. And maybe, just maybe, life is supposed to be a little more fun. Because sometimes the best lesson is simply: not everything is that serious. We Have An Idea...Again

KC has another idea. Honestly, this shouldn't surprise anyone. In this episode, we talk about KC's lifelong ability to come up with new ideas, new plans, and new things she thinks we absolutely should do. Charlie has spent years being the person who either gets talked into those ideas or has to step in and ask the important questions: How much work is involved? When would we actually have time to do it? And why do we apparently have 20 irons in the fire right now? But this week, something was different. Charlie was feeling a little better on the stress front, which apparently meant KC saw an opening. 😂 We talk about the constant dance between KC reeling Charlie in and Charlie reeling KC back in, why some of us are wired to chase the next idea, and how those ideas might be about more than just staying busy. Sometimes they are about wanting to experience something new, be part of something bigger than ourselves, and simply have a little more fun along the way. Maybe growing up doesn't mean we stop having ideas. Maybe it means we get better at deciding which ones are worth chasing. Because life is already serious enough. We might as well leave a little room for the next ridiculous idea. Join us as we talk about the lessons we're learning, the ideas we're trying to keep up with, and what it means to remember to actually enjoy the life we're building. Lesson Learned = Growth Earned. My Brain Wouldn't Let Me Relax

Sometimes the problem isn't that you have too much going on. Sometimes the problem is that your brain refuses to stop working on it. This week, one of us is stressed. Really stressed. Between everything happening in life, all the things that need to be figured out, and all the things she can't actually control, her brain has decided that relaxing is apparently not an option. The other one, well, she handles stress very differently. She can stress about something for a minute, figure out what she can do about it, and then put it down. So the sisters talk about why they handle stress so differently, what it looks like when worrying turns into trying to "work" your way out of a feeling, and whether we sometimes make ourselves more overwhelmed by trying so hard to make everything okay. Because sometimes there really is something you can do. And sometimes the hardest thing to do is admit that you've done what you can...and let the rest wait. If you've ever had a brain that just wouldn't shut off, this one might feel a little too familiar. ❤️ Lesson Learned = Growth Earned.
