    Episode 121 – 10/05/26 – Unfathomable Love, Unthinkably Acts (Part 4) – John 13:12–20

    Welcome to The Word Became Fresh, the Bible-teaching ministry of Pastor Sebastian Petz from The WORD Church LA. Last time, we looked more closely at the pattern Jesus establishes for His disciples in washing their feet—showing us that no act of service is beneath the Christian, and that true blessing belongs not merely to those who know what Jesus commands, but to those who actually do it. In this episode, we’ll conclude this message as Jesus reminds His disciples that a servant is not greater than his master, and then connects their mission directly to His own: those who receive the messengers Christ sends receive Christ Himself—and ultimately receive the Father who sent Him. Those who belong to Christ are servants of a greater Master and messengers of a greater King—and when Christ sends His servants into the world, they go with His authority and represent the One who sent them. We’ll consider Judas, the shocking reality of betrayal from within Jesus’ closest circle, and the sobering reminder that proximity to Christ is not the same thing as truly belonging to Christ.     Episode 120 – 09/28/26 – Unfathomable Love, Unthinkably Acts (Part 3) – John 13:12–20

Last time, we saw Jesus explain the meaning of washing His disciples’ feet, calling those who acknowledge Him as Teacher and Lord to follow His example in humble, self-giving service. The Lord and Master deliberately took the lowest place—and in doing so, He shows us that no act of service is beneath the Christian, and that true blessing belongs not merely to those who know what Jesus commands, but to those who actually do it.     Episode 119 – 09/21/26 – Unfathomable Love, Unthinkably Acts (Part 2) – John 13:1–11

Knowing His hour had come, Jesus displays the unfathomable depth of His love by stooping to perform the work of a servant—washing the feet of men who could never have imagined their Lord doing such a thing.     Episode 114 – 08/17/26 – The Cross: God's Instrument of Salvation...and Condemnation? (Part 1) – John 12:27–36

    Welcome to The Word Became Fresh, the Bible-teaching ministry of Pastor Sebastian Petz from The WORD Church LA. Last time, we concluded John 12:20–26 as Jesus explained what His approaching death would mean for everyone who would follow Him. We saw that just as a grain of wheat must die to bear much fruit, so Christ would lay down His life to accomplish our salvation. We also learned that true discipleship requires loving Christ above all else, denying ourselves, faithfully following Him, and joyfully serving Him with the promise that one day we will be with Him forever and honored by the Father. In this episode, we'll begin John 12:27–36 as Jesus' soul becomes deeply troubled in anticipation of the cross. We'll hear the Father speak from heaven, discover why Jesus refused to turn away from the very hour He came to endure, and begin to see how the cross would become both God's instrument of salvation for all who believe and His instrument of judgment upon a world that rejects His Son. Today we saw that although the cross filled Jesus' soul with profound anguish, He willingly embraced the Father's will because this was the very purpose for which He had come. We also heard the Father's voice affirm the Son's mission and began to see that Christ's crucifixion would accomplish far more than anyone standing there could have imagined—it would glorify God, bring judgment upon the world, defeat the ruler of this world, and open the way of salvation to all who trust in Him. Next time, we'll conclude John 12:27–36 as we examine Jesus' declaration that He would be "lifted up" to draw all people to Himself. We'll consider the crowd's confusion about the Messiah, Christ's urgent call to walk in the light while it is still available, and why responding to Jesus in faith today is a matter of eternal consequence.
