Meta's AI Sold His Keyboard & Sent A Stranger To His House

Meta's AI Sold His Keyboard & Sent A Stranger To His House On September 22 the last A-10 departed Nellis, ending 49 years of Warthogs at the base. Drew spent 300 hours calling in close air support over Afghanistan and never once asked for one. That's the argument this week, and it isn't the one you usually hear: the A-10's time and place was real, and its time and place was 1984. Nobody has tanks anymore. Everything replacing it is supersonic and air-refuelable, and a B-52 has eight hours of loiter. Meanwhile Congress wrote a law requiring the Air Force to keep 126 of them flying through 2033. It's called the BRRRRT Act — a real acronym, Bolstering Recognition, Resurgence, Retention and Remembrance of the Thunderbolt — which means federal legislation is now named after the noise a gun makes. We also salute the people who kept a fifty-year-old airplane flying, because those maintainers are doing something closer to magic than engineering. Also this week: Lucky the Clown is dark for the first time since 1976, and the plan to fix him runs through the National Register of Historic Places. Three billionaire groups are elbowing each other over the Vegas NBA team, one of which wants to call them the Jacks. Bojangles is opening at the LINQ with the chain's first full bar. A Hyrox champion soiled herself mid-race, won anyway, then gave the win back. And Meta's AI sold a man's keyboard for a third off and sent a stranger to his door at 9:15 at night. Binion's Pays $8 Million A Year For Land It Doesn't Own

Binion's Pays $8 Million A Year For Land It Doesn't Own The dirt underneath it belongs to seven separate entities — a gaming company, a realty outfit, a family limited partnership and a stack of trusts. That is the actual reason the place is frozen in time. A $48 million renovation got floated in 2019 and quietly died, because no investor on earth wants to negotiate with seven landlords at once. Down the street it's the opposite. Derek Stevens owns his dirt — he paid $13.5 million for one 0.08-acre holdout parcel to finish assembling Circa. Even he doesn't own all the land under the Golden Gate. It's a wackadoodle jigsaw puzzle, and a pretty complete explanation of why some downtown casinos get rebuilt and others get a fresh coat of paint. Also this week: the Boring Company says it's doubling the number of Vegas Loop stations by year's end, which is impressive given it hasn't finished the first fourteen. A decorated Metro officer got booked on theft, burglary and perjury. Every AI CEO on earth asked the government to regulate them, and we work out the three things that are all true about that at once. Three hikers let Gemini plan a Mount Shasta climb and had to be carried off it. And the Golden Gate put a window into a 70-year-old beam so you can see the name this town used to go by. Space Force Uniforms Inspired from a Movie Mocking Them

Space Force Uniforms Inspired from a Movie Mocking Them The proposed new Space Force dress uniforms were an AI-generated image, posted to social media, crediting their "divine inspiration" to Starship Troopers. Starship Troopers was directed by Paul Verhoeven, who grew up in Nazi-occupied Netherlands. The uniforms in that film are a deliberate parody of fascist iconography, and he has said so for thirty years. So if you look at them and think we should dress our service members like that, you are two layers into someone else's joke and you have not noticed that you're the punchline. Mental has a story about exactly this from Tinker Air Force Base, where a lieutenant submitted "work will set you free" as a squadron motto — and it made the finals before one lieutenant colonel recognized what was written over the gate at Auschwitz. This is why you take history class. Also this week: two people drove into a federal nuclear facility in North Las Vegas, gave fake names, and had a pistol in the car — and their attorney's defense is essentially that his clients are too incompetent to be spies. Prediction markets are headed to the Supreme Court because Kalshi wouldn't give the house its cut. Somebody turned a face-up flush into $376,000 at Harrah's. And Meta launched an AI agent that promises not to read your secrets. Drew, Slider and Mental. Your Vegas Airbnb Might Not Exist When You Land

Your Vegas Airbnb Might Not Exist When You LandA robot named Lightning ran the 100 meters in 9.32 seconds in Beijing last week. Usain Bolt's world record is 9.58. The robot is now faster than the fastest human being who has ever lived. It cannot fold a fitted sheet. That's our entire objection to the World Humanoid Robot Games, and we get into it this week. They're testing sprints, high jumps, obstacle courses and, we are not making this up, tai chi. Meanwhile the complete list of things a normal person wants a robot to do begins and ends with "the dishes." So we propose an alternative event program. It involves a black light and a middle-aged bachelor's apartment. Also this week: Clark County just made Airbnb and Vrbo verify a short-term rental license before they're allowed to process your payment, which means you can book a Vegas trip and land with nowhere to sleep. And we make the case that if you hate Las Vegas, you should come here anyway and then drive 45 minutes in any direction.Drew, Slider and Mental. A Country Inside Nevada Will Stamp Your Passport

A Country Inside Nevada Will Stamp Your PassportTen years ago, Las Vegas quietly built a straw at the very bottom of Lake Mead.Everybody else is fighting over paper — allocations, lawsuits, who owes whom how many acre-feet. Nevada just sued the federal government over the new Colorado River cuts, and the guys figure Arizona is next. But there is a point coming where Lake Powell can't push water down to Mead, and Mead can't push water any further down the river, and there is still a very large amount of water sitting at the bottom of that lake that exactly one city can reach. That's not even a secret plan. That's just how it works here. Also this week: Nevada gets paid $16.25 million to leave 50,000 acre-feet in Lake Mead that it had nowhere else to put anyway. There's a sovereign nation inside Nevada — 1.3 acres, population roughly two — that will stamp your passport and walk you through customs. And the state approved up to 7,000 paid robotaxis, of which Tesla, having asked for 5,000, was granted ten.Plus we say goodbye to Dolly Parton, who did not need a camera crew to prove she showed up.Drew, Slider and Mental. Uh Oh, Your Fitness Tracker is Snitching.

Uh Oh, Your Fitness Tracker is Snitching. Your favorite three retired Air Force officers walk into a podcast…and immediately discover your fitness tracker may be giving away more than your pace. Welcome back to Sin City Spin, where this week we’re asking an important national-security question: if everyone at the secret military base uploads the exact same four-mile run to a fitness app every morning…is the base still secret? From deployed troops broadcasting GPS tracks to smart watches, phones, rings, rental-car key fobs and every other internet-connected gadget determined to betray you, we revisit the increasingly complicated world of military OPSEC—and wonder how many warnings it takes before “turn off your GPS” becomes less of a suggestion and more of a UCMJ problem. Then somehow AI makes things worse. A school sends students educational material featuring geography that apparently came from an alternate universe. Google Gemini attempts a map of the United States, Montana starts multiplying, Nevada basically disappears, South Dakota gets promoted to South Africa, and we’re reminded of one of the most important lessons learned during decades in the Air Force: LOOK AT THE DAMN THING BEFORE YOU SHOW IT TO THE GENERAL. From there, we return to Las Vegas, where Treasure Island offered $200 in free slot play and discovered exactly how long people are willing to stand in line for free money. Spoiler: apparently a very, very long time. The promotion gets overwhelmed, the lines stretch for hours, locals descend on the Strip, and three middle-aged veterans begin reminiscing about the ancient Las Vegas of free parking, free drinks and pirate shows. As one does. And finally, the Army may have discovered the ultimate Gen-Z reenlistment bonus: Grand Theft Auto VI. A Fort Stewart unit offered soldiers a four-day pass connected to the GTA VI launch as part of a reenlistment campaign—and instead of mocking the commander, we might actually have to salute the idea. Four days of GTA VI sounds fantastic. Christmas duty afterward? We’ve worn the uniform. We know how this story ends. 🇺🇸 Military stories. Las Vegas insanity. AI incompetence. Veteran humor. Absolutely unnecessary commentary. If you served, live in Vegas, love military humor, hate AI-generated maps, or would seriously consider reenlisting for four uninterrupted days of GTA VI, you’ve found your people. 👇 YOUR TURN: What’s the dumbest thing you ever saw someone do that violated OPSEC—or what ridiculous incentive would have convinced YOU to reenlist? Drop it in the comments. And if sarcastic veterans roasting military life, Las Vegas and the general decline of civilization sounds like your kind of entertainment, SUBSCRIBE to Sin City Spin and join us every week.

Lost Kids, Giant Faces & Poop in a Box

Lost Kids, Giant Faces & Poop in a Box The world may have officially lost it, and your 3 favorite retired Air Force officers are here to conduct the after-action report nobody asked for. This week on Sin City Spin, Slider, Drew and Mental take on another collection of Las Vegas news stories that somehow begins with nuclear waste and lost schoolchildren…and ends with grown men discussing the proper farewell etiquette for poop.Yeah. We finally made that episode.First up: Yucca Mountain. Nevada has spent decades fighting plans to turn the site into America’s nuclear waste repository, so naturally the conversation quickly turns toward Fallout: New Vegas, giant underground data centers and exactly how much toxic waste Las Vegas can reasonably claim not to contain. Then school is back in session—and Clark County School District transportation is having a week. Wrong schools. Bad bus routes. Missing gate codes. Tracking apps tracking buses that aren't actually carrying the kids anymore. In a world of AI, GPS and enough computing power to land rockets vertically, the guys have questions.Mostly: HOW?!From there, we head to the Palms Las Vegas, where selected guests can see themselves displayed roughly 55 stories high on the resort tower. What could possibly go wrong? The guys immediately begin calculating the possibilities involving hacked displays, questionable background activity, giant anatomy and why giving the Internet access to a 55-story digital canvas sounds less like marketing and more like the opening scene of a documentary. And somehow that STILL isn't where we hit bottom. We eventually arrive at customer-generated advertising, companies turning customers into content, colon cancer screening kits and the phrase:“Poop in a box.”At which point any remaining military professionalism packs its bags and leaves the building. If you’re a veteran, retired military member, Las Vegas local, Vegas visitor, or just someone who likes your current events served with sarcasm, questionable judgment and the energy of three former Air Force officers who definitely should have stopped talking ten minutes earlier—you’re among friends.👇 YOUR TURN: Which part finally broke you: the Vegas school buses, the 55-story Palms display, or “poop in a box”? Drop it in the comments.👍 Like the episode💬 Join the argument below🔔 SUBSCRIBE to Sin City Spin and help us get to 10,000 subscribers—because apparently encouraging us is a decision you're willing to live with.

Your Car Is A Spy, American Teenage Hunger Games, Disney Gave TikTokers Star Wars

Your Car Is A Spy, American Teenage Hunger Games, Disney Gave TikTokers Star Wars Your car knows where you go, how hard you brake, and whether your insurance company should charge you more. Apparently, freedom now means finding a vehicle that doesn’t report your driving habits to corporate headquarters. This week, three retired Air Force officers examine the proposed return of the analog car—and discover that keeping the government out of your dashboard doesn’t necessarily stop automakers, insurance companies, phones, watches, and every other electronic snitch you own from tracking you. Then America celebrates its 250th birthday the only reasonable way possible: by selecting teenagers from every state to compete in dodgeball, kickball, tug-of-war, obstacle courses, and what sounds suspiciously like the Hunger Games with ESPN coverage. May the odds—and the presidential fitness test—be ever in their favor. The conversation then turns to Disney’s plan to bring curated TikTok fan content to Disney+, potentially opening the doors to fan-made stories, AI-generated trailers, alternate casting, forgotten characters, and entirely new corners of Star Wars. Could this unleash a new generation of creative storytellers—or bury viewers beneath an avalanche of terrible fan fiction? Along the way, Slider, Drew, and Mental also discuss: • The “Freedom Car” and the battle over automotive data privacy• Insurance companies monitoring how you drive• Why “military grade” does not mean what civilians think it means• America’s strange new youth athletic competition• Disney, TikTok, AI-generated content, and free corporate advertising• Why Star Wars desperately needs fewer orphans, twins, and daddy issues• Fan-created stories that might actually be better than the official versions• Star Trek conventions, Nyquist theory, and several unnecessary references that somehow survived editing It’s technology, privacy, patriotism, pop culture, military memories, and three veterans confidently discussing subjects they researched approximately five minutes before recording. Watch through the end, subscribe to Sin City Spin, and join a growing community of veterans, military families, Las Vegas locals, pop-culture fans, and anyone who prefers their news served with sarcasm. Question for the comments: Would you buy a completely analog car—and what Disney or Star Wars character deserves a fan-created spinoff? Subscribe and help us grow from 400 subscribers to 10,000. New episodes bring veteran comedy, military stories, Las Vegas culture, current events, technology, movies, television, and opinions nobody responsibly requested. #VeteranComedy #MilitaryPodcast #SinCitySpin
