Every week, we dive into attachment theory, relationships, boundaries, faith, masculinity and femininity, and the stories that shape who we become. Some episodes are vulnerable reflections from my own life. Others are conversations with inspiring guests who've experienced heartbreak, healing, grief, growth, and everything in between. My hope is that when you leave an episode, you understand yourself a little better, love yourself a little deeper, and feel hopeful about what's possible for your life and relationships. Because security isn't something you're born with. It's something you become. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

#69 The Father Wound: How It Shapes Every Man's Life - with George Stoimenov

In this episode of Becoming Secure with Magsmindset, I sit down with George Stoimenov, a Bulgarian-born mentor now living in the UK who works with convicted offenders, including men on probation for domestic violence and sexual offenses, through a UK Ministry of Justice rehabilitation program. We go deep into the father wound, how it shapes masculinity, the difference between drivenness and passion, and how unresolved pain from childhood shows up in adult relationships. George shares his own journey — from addiction and violence in his youth to a profound spiritual awakening that let him finally release the weight of his relationship with his father. We also talk about attachment theory, why men and women so often misunderstand each other, and the practical, faith-rooted tools George now uses to help others heal. #68 "I walked from Denmark to Spain when my heart broke" - Gideon Enok

What do you do when heartbreak leaves you feeling completely stuck? For Gideon Enok, the answer was to walk - 7,000 kilometers from the north of Denmark all the way to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. #64 Unpause Your Marriage with Lee Baucom

NOTE! Video available on YouTube. In this episode, I sit down with marriage coach and former therapist Lee Baucom to talk about what really causes marriages to break down—and how to prevent it. Lee explains that most couples unknowingly “hit the pause button” after committing, turning their focus to life demands and building habits of disconnection. We unpack the three levels of connection—physical, emotional, and spiritual—and why love alone doesn’t sustain a marriage without ongoing attention. We also explore complacency, resentment, and what one partner can do when the other isn’t motivated, including inviting connection rather than chasing it. Finally, we discuss expectations, values-based responding, self-regulation during conflict, and shifting from competition to a team mindset, plus where to find Lee’s Save The Marriage and Unpause Your Marriage resources. #63 How to Receive Love Without Losing Yourself with Lorina

In this episode, I’m joined by Lorina Manzanita, a somatic intimacy coach and trauma resolution practitioner, to explore how attachment patterns and developmental trauma get encoded in the body and shape our relationships. We talk about why empaths often self-abandon, people-please, and ignore their own needs, and how mindfulness and somatic awareness can build agency, boundaries, and healthier intimacy. Lorina explains implicit memory in the first 18 months of life, the balance of connection and differentiation in secure attachment, and why attachment can differ with each parent. We unpack intermittent positive reinforcement (“pigeon brain”) and why inconsistent love becomes addictive, plus how breakups can feel like death yet lead to liberation when supported by self-compassion, community, and resourcing. We also discuss eros as a life force, pleasure, and the power of gratitude and asking directly for what you need.
