The art of performance, an interview with Jules Dekker

If you’re interested in any kind of ‘performance’, this episode is for you! :) I had the pleasure of welcoming my first-ever guest to the podcast, as Jules Dekker/ Igor Grix joined me in the studio for an engaging conversation about the diverse roles, unique challenges, and remarkable journeys that shape a career in music and performance. We uncovered the creative process and inspirations behind Igor’s newly released songs, how he builds imaginative soundscapes through vivid imagery, and how Social Media can help you reach wider audiences. We also dived into the contrast between performing as an accompanying pianist for improvisational theatre—where the goal is often to remain almost unnoticed—and stepping into the spotlight as a solo performer, connecting directly with the audience! I learned a lot from Jules' humble and inspiring approach to his music career so far, I hope you will too! Bonne écoute ✨ To not miss any of Jules upcoming songs or performances https://www.instagram.com/igorgrixmusic?igsh=MWxkaW1hcDU3OXd0Nw== (His next show will be on June the 18th at Café Plantage in Leiden🤫) Igor Grix's music on Spotify! https://open.spotify.com/album/5TtVnuhaUJLbUWUyFHSSNz?si=h3PJEDJCRYOfuFcRQIi3Ww If you'd be intrigued in following my creative sidequests https://www.instagram.com/notice.and.create?igsh=ZGZlZGNmZGdwa3o1&utm_source=qr Hosted on Acast. “You’re too much in your head!” My challenges around self-expression

This episode (initially recorded in April 2025... ups) will cover my journey so far with self-expression and how difficult it can be to sometimes simply trust yourself and your own ideas. In this second episode of Notice & Create, I'll talk about making space for creativity, the entanglement between procrastination and perfectionism, or the fear of challenging already set ideas of yourself. I will also share quotes and techniques that have made me think differently and helped me push myself a little further in investing energy in what brings me joy and excitement :) I hope you'll enjoy the episode!
