Did Giants Once Walk the Earth? The Evidence, Legends & Hidden History

Did giants once walk the Earth, or are these stories the result of myths, exaggerations, and misunderstood discoveries? In this episode, we explore the evidence, legends, and hidden history surrounding ancient giants. We look at everything from the Nephilim and the giants of Greek and Norse mythology to Malta’s massive stone temples, Nevada’s Lovelock Cave, and the burial mounds of North America. We dig into historical reports of enormous skeletons, red-haired giants, massive jaws, and double rows of teeth. We also examine Abraham Lincoln’s surprising reference to extinct giants, claims that the Smithsonian concealed unusual remains, and the strange military story of the Giant of Kandahar. Of course, there may be more ordinary explanations. Unreliable measurements, animal fossils, deteriorating remains, and sensational newspaper stories could account for much of the mystery. But could some ancient giants have been unusually tall humans, forgotten human relatives, or even the inspiration behind Bigfoot legends? Cultures around the world have been telling stories about giants for thousands of years. Were our ancestors creating larger-than-life myths, or describing something they actually encountered? Topics include ancient giants, the Nephilim, Lovelock Cave, red-haired giants, the Giant of Kandahar, giant skeletons, the Smithsonian cover-up theory, Native American oral history, Malta’s megalithic temples, Denisovans and Bigfoot. The Bridgewater Triangle is America's Weirdest Paranormal Hotspot

Deep in southeastern Massachusetts is the Bridgewater Triangle—a paranormal hotspot where UFOs, Bigfoot, giant birds, Pukwudgies, phantom hitchhikers, ghost trucks, and missing-time stories all occupy the same suspicious patch of land. In this episode, we enter the Hockomock Swamp and explore the region’s heavy history, the legend of Metacom’s missing wampum belt, a police cruiser allegedly lifted by something unseen, and Bill Russo’s terrifying encounters with creatures who lure victims into the woods.  We also investigate one of America’s earliest recorded UFO sightings, an enormous craft shaped like baseball home plate, the murders and Satanic Panic surrounding Freetown State Forest, and haunted roads where passengers vanish without warning. Is the Bridgewater Triangle a portal attracting every category of high strangeness? Could fog, wildlife, power lines, highway hypnosis, and expectation explain its reputation? Or has the Triangle become a story machine that transforms every strange experience inside its boundaries into something paranormal? We don’t know—but we do know we’re not following a Pukwudgie into a swamp. Bigfoot: Cryptid, Forest Spirit, Alien, or Hoax?

The Bigfoot question sounds simple until you actually try to prove it: how can a seven-foot, 700-pound biped live across North America with no confirmed bones, no clean DNA, and nothing but footprints, stories, and one legendary strip of film?  We dig into the Indigenous roots behind the modern “Bigfoot” brand, where regional names and oral histories describe hairy people as real beings and sometimes as caretakers of the deep woods. From there we put the spotlight on the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film, the gait and anatomy arguments, and the reasons it still holds up as the reference point for every Bigfoot debate.  Then we turn to the evidence that can be measured: footprint trackways, mid-foot break claims, and what plaster casts can and cannot tell you. We also lay out the strongest counterpoints, including bear misidentification, statistical ties between black bear populations and reported sightings, and repeated DNA tests that come back as known animals or contamination. And when the conversation gets weird, we go there: the “Oz factor” silence, vanishing tracks, and other high strangeness that pushes Bigfoot into paranormal territory.  If you love cryptids, Sasquatch folklore, Bigfoot evidence analysis, and the line between science and story, hit play, then subscribe, share the episode, and leave a review. What’s your best explanation for Bigfoot: animal, hoax, spirit, or something else entirely?
