Made To Last

Hannah and Jake Weidmann

Hey Beloved! We're Jake and Hannah Weidmann. We're full-time artists and entrepreneurs that describe our current season as “birthing babies and building businesses” as we raise our growing family alongside our fine art careers. We are living out counter-cultural careers of slow art in a fast-paced world where we are employing timeless methods of craft and storytelling to pass on a legacy of faithfulness in our everyday lives. Whatever season you find yourself in, you are making something: friendships, business, family, marriage, home, community -- a legacy. We are convinced that the greatest work of art we’ll ever create is our life together. Join us as we build a marriage, family, faith and work that’s made to last.

Caves & Cathedrals: We Were Made to Make

Why do we make—and why does it matter? In the Season Four premiere of Made to Last, Jake and Hannah explore the deeply human instinct to create, cultivate, build, and leave something meaningful behind. Inspired by the opening chapter of Jake’s new book, Heart of the Maker, they unpack why creativity isn’t reserved for professional artists, how Jake came to understand his own creativity as a calling, and the difference between making for recognition and making from conviction. They also explore what it means to “build cathedrals in a sandcastle culture” and how that philosophy has shaped their marriage, family, businesses, home, and the life they’re building together. This conversation introduces the question at the heart of the season: What are you making with the life you’ve been given? And in the first Put It to Work challenge, Jake and Hannah invite you to identify what’s holding you back from creating—and consider where in your life you’re already building something that could last.
