    RISING STAR TYLER JACOBS – GETTING TO GRIPS EPISODE 5

    Tyler Jacobs only started mountain biking in 2021 and has enjoyed a rapid rise through the sport. She is a member of the international Liv Factory Racing Team, which focusses primarily on UCI XCO World Cup Racing. In Episode 5 of Getting to Grips, the young South African star chats to Sean, Jo and Cade about her life as a pro mountain bike racer.

He shares some fascinating insights about this iconic event as well as himself with Sean and Jo. The episode kicks off with Sean and Cade briefly discussing the 2024 SA MTB Survey.

    Episode 3 of Getting to Grips with TREAD Media sees Sean and Jo reflect on recent major South African races as well as discuss the increase in women’s participation at Tankwa Trek stage race. The guest in this episode is Mamello Mnguni, a relative newcomer to mountain biking but already aiming at finishing her second Absa Cape Epic with the support of the Absa #SheUntamed programme.     The second episode of our TREAD Media podcast sees Sean, Jo and Cade discuss the local race scene in late January and February 2025, a vibrant time of the year in South African mountain bike racing.  Most of our podcast episodes will include guests and the first of those is Rory Kirk. Rory is a downhill racer from Johannesburg. That’s correct, from Joburg, which is more than a four-hour drive from the nearest proper downhill course! The young man has a talent and speaks frankly to the crew about a range of topics, which even to non-gravity viewers, are interesting. This launch episode is really just our team – Sean, Joanne and Cade – trying to get into the podcast groove with introductions and a look ahead at what promises to be an exciting 2025!
