Welcome to YOUR Korean drama podcast! Today's the day, Sarangees! It's time for our sixth drama chase: Crash Landing on You! 🌪️🪂💥❤️ We're fully ready to paraglide into North Korea with our heroine Se-ri so she can find her Jeong-hyeok! First up, we get into why we chose CLOY and why it took us SO long to rewatch it. Then we meet Yoon Se-ri, chaebol CEO of Se-ri's Choice, and step into her world. Her father, chairman of Queens Group (same name, different family from Queen of Tears!), names her his successor, much to the chagrin of her incompetent brothers and cold mother. But that doesn't hold Se-ri back. She's ready to soar and conquer anything in her way. So she goes paragliding, gets swept up in a freak tornado, and crash-lands on the North Korean side of the DMZ. Enter Ri Jeong-hyeok, a stoic North Korean army captain, who immediately accuses her of being a spy. Se-ri manages to escape, leaves Jeong-hyeok stranded on a landmine, and tries to RUN back to South Korea. Along the way, we meet Jeong-hyeok's army unit, the Company Five, who are all on a mission to hunt her down. Then there's our villain, Lunatic Lieutenant Cho Cheol-gang, who ends up killing like 5 people, which is INSANE. And we get a quick glimpse of our second male lead, Gu Seung-jun. Finally, Se-ri stumbles into a village she assumes is in South Korea. But one look at the villagers and the North Korean propaganda posters plastered everywhere, and she realizes... she's really not in Seoul anymore. Episode 1 is a fantastic set-up with GREAT world-building.
