#77 - The Regenerative Journey | Charlie Arnott

Charlie Arnott is an eighth-generation Australian farmer, educator, podcaster and one of the best-known voices in Australia’s regenerative agriculture space. In this episode, we get into Charlie’s journey from conventional, high-input farming into a more biodynamic, holistic and regenerative way of working with the land. But this chat isn’t just about farming. It’s about changing the way we see nature, food, soil, animals, family legacy and ourselves. We talk about what it actually takes to shift old systems, how farming can become less about control and more about relationship, and why healthy soil sits underneath so much of the bigger conversation around food, health and the future. A really grounded, honest and thought-provoking conversation with someone who has lived the transition, not just talked about it. #76 - Deep Ecology & Ecological Identity | John Seed

In this episode, I sit down with John Seed. A rainforest activist, deep ecology teacher, and one of Australia’s most important voices in helping people remember their place inside the living world. We explore deep ecology not just as an idea, but as a shift in identity. Not “humans over here and nature over there”, but humans as one expression of the Earth, woven into the same living web as forests, fungi, rivers, animals, soil and everything else. John shares from decades of rainforest activism, the birth of the Council of All Beings, and the deeper question sitting underneath so much of ecological work: how do we move from simply caring about nature, to actually feeling ourselves as part of it? A beautiful, deep, and grounding conversation for anyone who feels that gardening, soil, forests and ecology are really pointing us back to something much bigger. #75 - Holistic Management For Better Farmers | Brian Wehlburg

In this episode I sit down with Brian Wehlburg, one of Australia’s leading Holistic Management educators and the director of Inside Outside Management. Brian has spent decades working with farmers, graziers, landholders and communities across Australia and New Zealand, helping people make better decisions for their land, their animals, their businesses and their families. He’s a certified Holistic Management educator with Holistic Management International, a certified Master Field Professional with the Savory Institute, and brings a deep lived experience from farming in both Zimbabwe and Australia. This conversation is about far more than grazing. We get into what it actually means to manage land holistically, how decision-making shapes the future of a farm, why soil health and people health are so connected, and how regenerative agriculture becomes much more powerful when it includes the human beings making the decisions. A beautiful conversation about land, life, responsibility, regeneration and learning to work with nature instead of against it. #73 Can Technology Make Us Better Gardeners? | Josh Gardens [ThePlantTechie]

In this episode I’m joined by Josh Gardens, also known as the Plant Techie, for a conversation about the crossover between plants, gardening and technology. Josh sits in that really interesting space where two worlds collide... the living, breathing, sometimes messy world of plants, and the fast-moving world of tech, tools, data and innovation. We talk about what technology can offer gardeners, where it can help us understand our plants better, and also where we need to be careful not to lose the simple human connection of actually observing, touching and spending time in the garden. This was a really fun chat and a great episode for anyone who loves plants, enjoys learning, and is curious about where gardening might be heading next. #72 - The Beauty of Being a Home Gardener | Elisabeth Kingman [Garden Girl/Muddy Boots]

In this episode, I’m joined by Elisabeth Kingman or Garden Girl, and the other half of the Muddy Boots Podcast. After having Keith Edwards on the show, it was great to sit down with Elisabeth and hear her perspective as a home gardener, podcast host, and someone who is constantly learning through conversations, mistakes, seasons, and time spent in the garden. We talk about her gardening story, what it’s like learning alongside someone like Keith, the common mistakes everyday gardeners make, the joy of home gardening, garden design, and the beauty of simply getting in and having a go. This is a really human conversation about gardening from the perspective of someone who loves it, lives it, and is still learning — which, really, is where most of us are. #71 - 365 Days Grass-Fed in the UK | Silas Hedley-Lawrence [Grassfed Farmer]

On the show this week we have the awesome Silas Hedley-Lawrence or the [Grassfed_farmer]. Silas is a regenerative agri-coach who has recently finished the incredible CREATE course by Nicole Masters and is making headway in the agriculture sector in the UK. In the conversation we outline how Silas manages to feed cows grass all year round in a place like the UK and what challenges are needing to be faced in order to tackle some of the issues with UK cattle farming. These are some really important topics and fill me with optimism and hope for the way in which we can farm for our future! #70 - Building Resilience For Ourselves & Our Communities | Nick Pratt [Nicholasisbarefoot]

Today I was joined by the mighty Nick Pratt who goes by the handle 'nicholasisbarefoot' sharing ways that people can regain control of their own resources and building resilience through close-knit communities. We speak about how broken systems are making us rely heavily upon them and when crisis strikes we bare the full force of the repercussions. Continuing to have the majority of our population relying on a few bottlenecks bound to break is a recipe for disaster. This conversation sheds light on what we can do to bring back a little more security for ourselves, our families and our communities. By growing our own food, harvesting natural resources like rain, carbon, sunlight etc, we can protect ourselves against collapse and reinforce what it means to be part of a symbiotic system within nature.
