    The Greenhouse Pt. 2 | Empowered Ep89

    In your greenhouse, nurture your relationships like a unique garden: discern needs, build habits of love, and stay connected with God to flourish. Your greenhouse holds multiple gardens representing different relationships: marriage, children, friendships, and extended family. Each has unique soil requiring specific nutrients to flourish. Even a right action done at the wrong time can cause harm. When we discern hearts, step into the worlds of those we love, and consistently provide the right care, we build a culture where relationships thrive. This culture is shaped by our words and sustained by our habits. The rhythms we establish in our homes become systems that protect what every relationship needs most: connection.     The Greenhouse Pt. 1 | Empowered Ep88 with Will Mancini

    What’s in your heart is displayed in your home. When God shapes our hearts, our hearts transform our homes, and our homes change our cities. What’s in your heart is displayed in your home. God designed the home to be a greenhouse—a place where His presence cultivates an environment of life and life abundantly. To manage our households means to be present, intentional, and actively involved in the well-being of those God has entrusted to us. Every member of the home has a role to play. As we allow God to shape our hearts, our hearts shape the culture of our homes, and what is cultivated in our homes eventually flows into our cities.     Family on Mission | Empowered Ep87

    Jesus didn’t come to give us nice, cordial families. He came to build families that carry His mission.  The picture we see of family in the Old Testament is a grim one, yet a source of hope to use as a blueprint. It’s a wonder how a family survived after you look at the depth of the dysfunction that has been passed on for generations. We see rampant sins piled up that are deep and wide. The end of the Old Testament gives a stark warning of a curse on the land if we don’t figure this out. Fortunately, we have someone who does not come to get rid of our past, but to rebuild a new family. Jesus is the master builder who comes to break the curse off the land and our families if we build it as He designs. What does family look like in the New Testament? Is it a white picket fence with a swing set in the back, the parents living with low cholesterol, and setting up their retirement? Or did Jesus come to bring a family on mission because the stakes of hell and sin are high?
