    Follow Me: The King’s Call in Mark 1:14–20

    In this episode, we step into the opening scenes of Jesus’ public ministry in Gospel of Mark 1:14–20, where the long-awaited kingdom breaks into history with power and urgency. After the arrest of John the Baptist, Jesus Christ comes into Galilee proclaiming a bold and world-shaking message: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” What does it mean that the time is fulfilled? What is the kingdom of God? And what does true repentance really look like? We’ll explore: • The significance of John’s arrest and the transition to Jesus’ ministry • The meaning of “the kingdom of God” in redemptive history • The call to repent and believe — not as religious ritual, but as total surrender • Why Jesus calls ordinary fishermen — Simon, Andrew, James, and John — and what it means to become “fishers of men” • The cost and immediacy of discipleship: “And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.” This passage confronts us with the same question those first disciples faced on the shores of Galilee: When the King calls, will we follow?
