I was born blind with a rare genetic condition called Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). I’ve never seen the world the way most people do—but that’s exactly what makes this journey different. This podcast is where I take you deeper than the surface… beyond sight. In 2024, I made a life-changing move. I left the United States and relocated to the Philippines to be with my wife—completely on my own. From navigating international travel without vision, to adapting to a new culture, environment, and way of life, every step has been real, unfiltered, and earned. This podcast is not just about blindness. It’s about independence, resilience, relationships, risk, and building a life on your own terms. It’s about doing what most people think is impossible—and proving them wrong without needing to say a word. This is Beyond Sight—a journey about life, risk, freedom, and seeing the world in a way that goes deeper than vision. I’ve been blind since birth with a condition called Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA)… but that never stopped me from making the biggest decision of my life. In August 2024, I left the United States… permanently. No turning back. No guarantees. Just a one-way trip across the world to the Philippines. This episode is the start of that story. I talk about: * Growing up blind in America * Getting on a 27-hour flight alone * Navigating multiple airports without sight * Being stopped at immigration and questioned * Meeting my girlfriend (now wife) in person for the first time * Making the decision to stay in the Philippines for good * Getting married and going through the full immigration process * Building a new life from nothing in a completely different country This isn’t some polished, perfect story. This is real life—raw, unfiltered, and still unfolding. Right now, I’m living in the Philippines with my wife, and we’ve got a baby on the way.
