    Ep 15: Upon Ahnen's Invitation

In case you missed it in our last session, everyone gathered in the audience chamber after their disparate breakfasts and made their way over to the Temple of Zerhōss and Ashtakrrok. Less one arm, yet on the mend, Ashtakrrok, sagacious as ever, helped put the puzzle pieces together. The attack came from Kar’tum, which might need investigation. Jōlahr should probably leave Rejlaz and someone disguised to take his place. Now, that person is not going to be Melbim, but Bojak could be trusted to fill the role. And Bjōlan can have one of the pointed halos to further his research into both the runes and the Zoỹrek. Then, Bjōlan had a moment with Zerhōss in the temple’s convex, an unanswered moment, but one nonetheless; Fisvénir spoke privately with Ashtakrrok about how the runes might be used to help Jōlahr and maybe even combat a future citywide runes construct; and Åthedræl made it clear that she will offer whatever assistance she can to Bjōlan as he looks past the Severing. Episode 14: Puns, Plans, & Prayers

In case you missed it in our last session, the party arrived back at Rejlaz Rhekōlb to find things oddly calm. Bursting into the king’s audience chamber (with Ahnen doing the doorcrashing), they found a pleasant dinner taking place with Jōlahr entertaining faces both new and familiar. Conversations ensued with only occasionally raised voices. Over a dozen Zōrheg and many upper-tier Kisstyral had attacked the palace directly, scaling the sheer cliffs on the sea-facing side of the grounds. They had come for Jōlahr while he strolled alone among the Queen’s Glade, but Ashtakrrok had prepared and the ingenious plans managed to delay the Zōrheg long enough for aid to arrive from the palace. However, that inventive Nibolian sustained grievous injuries in the battle. On the other hand, the king’s defenders also managed to defeat three Zōrheg during the fray, their bodies crumpling and crunching up into the horrid bands that encircled their heads. All that remained were those pointed halos. These relics brought about the aforementioned raised voices as you might expect and the main session left off with many words left unsaid, so we had a set of bonus sessions for those needed 1:1 conversations. As to not unduly influence the table, I’ll let those episodes speak for themselves, as each of them ended with our party heading into the audience chamber to reconvene and make their collective way over to the Temple of Zerhōss to bring Ashtakrrok into the discussion of next steps. Episode 13: Dinner & a Conversation

In case you missed it in our last session, with victory imminent, plans began to be made for how to triage the aftermath; however, Fisvénir realized he had a message pending on his sending stone. It was Melbim. The Battle of Nerhtan was a diversion and Rejlaz Rhekōlb had been attacked, assailed by many Zōrheg and Kisstyral. But, the assault was repelled, though at great cost. The king survived and was calling his army back to the capital for he knew they would not survive another incursion. Fisvénir understood the assignment and formulated cogent orders in spite of his internal turmoil: arcane healers and professional soldiers leave at dawn by sea; everyone else cleanse the city.Meanwhile, Bjōlan met the Kjōrbaj, Ahnen, a Fahnril of particular character. Ahnen held significantly more knowledge of the runes and Zōrheg, seemingly too much knowledge for the boys to handle in a single sitting. Their conversation left more questions than answers as Rejlaz Rhekōlb crept over the horizon, an uneasy quiet hanging over the city, punctuated by hammers and saws, masonry and carpentry.
