I'm Too Young For This: Living With Young Onset Dementia (Watch)

When most people hear the word dementia, they picture someone much older. But for thousands of Australians, dementia arrives long before retirement, turning life upside down when they are still raising families, building careers and planning for the future. In this episode of I'm Too Old For This, Dementia Support Specialist Naomi sits down with Jason, who is living with young onset dementia and calls Brightwater's Aurora House home. Together, they unpack what young onset dementia is, why it can sometimes take time to diagnose, and the support available for people navigating life after diagnosis. Jason also shares his own experience, from adapting to change and finding independence, to the routines, relationships and everyday moments that continue to bring meaning to his life. It's an honest, warm and hopeful conversation about life after diagnosis, and a reminder that while dementia may change some things, it does not change who a person is. 🎧 Listen to the full podcast on Spotify, Apple & more → https://pod.link/1797257590 📖 Dive deeper into I'm Too Old For This, transcripts + more → https://brightwatergroup.com/podcast 💙 Read more about Jason's journey adjusting to life after diagnosis → https://brightwatergroup.com/your-aged-care/the-first-year-after-a-dementia-diagnosis-adjusting-together Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/im2oldforthis/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/im2oldforthis_pod/ TikTok: http://tiktok.com/@im2oldforthispod
