Ravens Collapse vs Saints | Jamal Lewis on Derrick Henry's 5 Carries

The Ravens were up 17 to 9 and got outscored 15 to nothing in the fourth quarter at home. Mike Preston was in the press box and Jerry Coleman watched the same meltdown, and neither one of them is letting anybody blame this one on John Harbaugh. Ravens great Jamal Lewis joins the show and does not hold back once he hears Derrick Henry carried the ball five times in the second half. Lewis says he would have been livid, explains why he had more standing to demand the ball than Henry does, and tells offensive coordinators around the league to check their egos at the door. On third and one he wants the handoff even if every person in the building knows it is coming. Lewis also breaks down whether the running back position is really devalued, how his running style compares to Henry's, and what happens to defensive backs in the fourth quarter after a back has been pounding them all afternoon. His line about business decisions is worth the listen on its own. Mike and Jerry get into the rest of it. Lamar Jackson's clock management and the interception at the end. Mark Andrews doing his usual disappearing act. A defense that let the Saints convert eight of fifteen on third down and two of two on fourth. Tyler Shough completing 80 percent of his passes in Baltimore. Kyle Hamilton playing well and leaving without talking. Special teams that Preston says should have gotten a D. And a home stadium where the Ravens have now lost seven of their last ten. Then a look ahead to Rio. The field that soccer players called terrible, the hour and a half bus ride, the Ravens being told to stay in the hotel while Dallas gets the beach, and whether Zay Flowers or Nnamdi Madubuike should risk playing on that surface at all. Plus Mike Preston's report card, with a grade for every unit and a D for the coaching staff. Former O's Backstop Chris Hoiles pushes back on today's catchers and an umpire apologizes to a hat?

In Episode 24 of the Bmore Baseball Podcast, JC and Orioles Hall of Famer and 14-year MLB veteran Mike Bordick cover three main topics: Featured guest: Chris Hoiles — Former Orioles catcher Chris Hoiles joins the show for a conversation about his career and time in Baltimore. The “Ex-Orioles Revenge Tour” — JC and Bordick discuss a remarkable stretch in 2026 in which several former Orioles returned to face Baltimore and delivered strong performances against their old club. They highlight Grayson Rodriguez, Dean Kremer, Tyler Wells, Tomoyuki Sugano, and especially Adley Rutschman, who hit two home runs in his first game back at Camden Yards after being traded. The discussion centers on whether former players carry extra motivation when facing the organization that decided it no longer wanted them, and Bordick reflects on his own experiences facing former teams. “Tip of the Cap” — or not — The hosts turn to a controversial incident involving MLB umpire Doug Eddings and Cardinals rookie pitcher Hancel Rincon. Eddings ordered Rincon to straighten his cap during his MLB debut, telling him he wouldn't wear it that way “on my field.” JC argues that the umpire overstepped and may have intimidated a young pitcher, particularly given the heated exchange that followed with Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol. The segment also highlights how Cardinals players—and even some Rockies—appeared to protest the umpire's actions the following day by deliberately tilting their caps and batting helmets. Overall: The episode blends Orioles nostalgia and current baseball drama, with the Chris Hoiles interview providing the feature attraction, the “Ex-Orioles Revenge Tour” offering a fun storyline about former players getting the better of Baltimore, and the cap controversy prompting a broader discussion about respect, authority, and the relationship between players and umpires in Major League Baseball.

Matt Stover on Tyler Loop; Just how big was that last missed kick?

This episode of the BMORE Football Podcast features host JC and The Baltimore Sun’s Mike Preston discussing the Ravens’ upcoming season and the broader NFL landscape. Featured guest: Matt Stover — The Ravens’ legendary kicker joins the show for a 15–20 minute conversation. Ravens vs. Colts preview: Baltimore opens the season in Indianapolis, marking the first season since 2007 without John Harbaugh on the Ravens’ sideline. The team is expected to be a playoff contender under new head coach Jesse Minter and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, though there are questions about how dramatically the new offense will differ. Offensive line concerns: Jovaughn Greene is expected to make his first career start at center despite having only 11 offensive snaps since being drafted in 2023. Veteran Ethan Pocic, who has 97 career starts at center, remains unavailable while recovering from Achilles surgery. Nnamdi Madubuike’s return: The Ravens have not indicated whether Madubuike will play in the opener after neck surgery and missing the final 15 games of last season. The expectation discussed is that he may debut in Week 2 against New Orleans instead. Game prediction: The hosts expect the Ravens to beat the Colts, despite Indianapolis having home-field advantage. Concerns include Daniel Jones returning from injury and the Colts having limited offensive weapons beyond Jonathan Taylor. NFL contenders: The discussion identifies the Rams, Chiefs, Bills, Seahawks, Ravens and potentially Patriots among the league’s top teams. The Rams are highlighted for adding Myles Garrett, while Aaron Donald’s return is also mentioned. Kansas City faces questions with Patrick Mahomes coming off an ACL injury, and Buffalo remains dangerous because of Josh Allen. Questions about defending/repeating: The hosts are skeptical about Seattle repeating as champions, noting how difficult it is to win consecutive titles. They also question whether New England is truly elite after benefiting from a favorable regular-season schedule last year. NFL bottom feeders: The teams identified as among the league’s worst are the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans. Bottom line: The episode centers on optimism about the Ravens as a potential elite NFL team, while highlighting uncertainty around the coaching transition, center position, defensive injuries, and how quickly the new offense will develop.
