Act Like Men 2026: Episode 1 – Noah

What does it actually mean to act like a man in the eyes of God? Welcome to Episode 1 of the "Act Like Men" series on Word Time with Coach Shelby Sr. and Coach Shelby Jr. In this foundational episode, we break down the life and faith of Noah—a man who stood righteous in a generation consumed by wickedness and persistent unfaithfulness. Noah worked faithfully for nearly a century on a massive project he had never seen before (an ark in the desert), facing potential mockery, isolation, and spiritual warfare. Yet, his unwavering obedience didn't just save him—it set the trajectory for his entire household. In this episode, we cover: The Calling & Influence of a Father: Why you plus God equals the majority, and how a father's spiritual leadership creates a umbrella of protection for his children until they reach an age to make their own stand for Christ. Ezekiel 14 & The Power of Personal Righteousness: A deep dive into Noah, Daniel, and Job, addressing why every individual must ultimately choose Christ for themselves—and how a godly father dramatically increases the odds of his family stepping into the ark. Building Your Ark: How the ark serves as a type and shadow of the Cross, and why spiritual leadership requires daily intentionality—not just when it's convenient. Faith vs. Fear & Overcoming Overwhelm: Recognizing that when fear or feeling overwhelmed creeps in, it’s actually your golden opportunity to exercise faith. The Greatest Blessings: Why the ultimate blessings of God aren't earned by human striving, but inherited through simple obedience and faith. Men, your first ministry is right inside the walls of your own home. It’s time to stop chasing fleeting distractions, pick up the Sword of the Spirit, and start building your ark.
