I’m trying to get into this but I often find myself just turning it off it’s way too disorganized and it’s very negative both Alex and Olivia seem to be beyond cynical just truly negative people, you have to be careful with this sort of thing, you are what you consume. And the episode where they both complained endlessly about Taylor swift was just embarrassing, I’m not a fan of Taylor swift either never have been never will be never understood the hype I’m 33 so I’ve been able to experience the mass hysteria and cult of swift from the very start and can see it for what it is so I get what they meant but they just came off as “we’re sooooo much cooler than everyone around us” and the secondhand embarrassment was too much. That’s the vibe and impression I get from almost every episode, they seem to have put themselves on some strange pedestal of self appointed greatness and entitlement that yeah, they’re just better and savvier than the rest of the world, they and they alone know the secret truths of the universe and the rest of us are Less Than. It’s even in their tones of voice this air of superiority, it’s really quite strange. I’ll probably keep giving it another try, I found Alex through cover to cover and really enjoyed his contribution there and I thought this podcast would be more of that but with way more leeway less 60 year old man holding him back, this podcast is not that though, I don’t really know what it is (does anyone? do they?) but maybe it’ll grow on me. Also I do not understand the picture? Was this originally a sex podcast? Why the dildos? Just seems really odd and juvenile, another layer to the secondhand embarrassment, and frankly confusing.
