Strongholds Are Destroyed Through Spiritual Warfare - General Preaching

In this message, we explore the reality that many of life's most persistent battles cannot be won through education, increased awareness, sheer determination, or willpower. When dealing with a spiritual stronghold, human methods fall short because carnal weapons cannot produce spiritual victories. As Paul instructs in 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 and Ephesians 6:12, our struggle is spiritual, requiring divine weapons capable of tearing down entrenched fortresses. Key Takeaways Understanding Strongholds: A stronghold is a deeply rooted system of thought and activity that opposes God's truth. Unlike temporary tents, strongholds are like fortified castles built over time through repeated lies, subtle compromises, and agreement with the enemy. The Progression of a Stronghold: Strongholds begin with a single thought, progress into repeated meditation, solidify into beliefs and agreements, and ultimately manifest as habitual behavior or spiritual bondage. Truth as the Only Weapon Against Lies: Satan operates exclusively through deception (John 8:44), while Jesus offers liberating truth (John 8:31–32). Tearing down a stronghold requires more than trying to "stop thinking" about a lie; it demands actively replacing lies with the Word of God through the renewing of the mind (Romans 12:2). Transformation Over Modification: Freedom is not mere behavioral modification or self-reliance—it is mind transformation through Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). True deliverance requires submitting to God first, resisting the devil with Scripture (just as Jesus did in Matthew 4), and standing firm in His truth. Practical Application Audit Your Thought Life: Identify recurring destructive thoughts or lies that draw you away from God's truth. Confront Lies with Scripture: Speak and apply God’s Word directly to specific lies rather than relying on personal feelings or willpower. Submit and Resist: Yield every area of life—including the areas you may have "grown around"—to God, and stand firm on the promise that "greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

A Church United in Prayer and Power - Acts: The Church on Mission

When intense opposition and religious threats pressed in against the early church, the believers did not retreat, complain, or compromise—they gathered and prayed. Following the miraculous healing of the 40-year-old man and the subsequent arrest and release of Peter and John, the apostles returned to "their own company." Instead of begging God for easier circumstances or asking Him to remove persecution, this Spirit-filled assembly united in heart and voice to exalt the sovereign Creator, acknowledge His divine hand in all things, and request holy boldness to continue proclaiming the Word of God. This message examines how a spiritually mature church responds to trials: not by seeking escape from difficulty, but by trusting in the absolute sovereignty of God, leaning into Christian fellowship, and seeking fresh empowerment from the Holy Spirit to stand fearless in the face of fear. Key Takeaways & Main Points Refusing to Retreat (Acts 4:21–23): Threats and opposition are inevitable for believers living godly in Christ Jesus (2 Tim. 3:12). Instead of backing down, returning to old ways, or isolating themselves, the apostles immediately sought out spiritual community—returning to "their own company" for mutual strength and fellowship. Exalting the Sovereign Creator First (Acts 4:24–28): Mature prayer does not start with the problem; it starts with the Sovereign God. Before addressing their threats, the early church recognized God as the Maker of heaven and earth, the Author of Scripture (quoting Psalm 2), and the One who remains in complete control over every ruler, enemy, and trial. Praying for Boldness over Comfort (Acts 4:29–30): True biblical boldness is not the absence of fear, but the God-given power not to be bound by it. Rather than asking God to change their circumstances or eliminate opposition, the believers prayed: "Grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word." The Answer of Holy Ghost Power (Acts 4:31): When God’s people align their heart with His purpose, God responds with His presence and power. The place was shaken, they were filled afresh with the Holy Spirit, and they immediately put that power to work by proclaiming the Word with unwavering courage and unified purpose.

Think On These Things - General Preaching

The greatest battles we will ever face don’t take place on a visible battlefield—they are fought silently within the human mind. Writing from the confines of a Roman prison, the Apostle Paul—a man physically bound—delivers a profound message of true freedom: how God calls us to guard and direct our thoughts. God does not need to hand us a list of every negative thought to avoid. Instead, He calls us to fill our minds with what is right. When we intentionally align our thought life with God’s truth, there is simply no room left for the lies, imaginations, and anxieties that bring us harm. To "think" on these things is not a passive accident; it is an intentional, daily decision to occupy our minds with what honors Him. In this message, we break down Paul’s blueprint for a transformed mind: Truth over Imagination: Filter every thought through God’s Word rather than building a thought life on assumptions and spiritual lies (Psalm 49:15). Honesty & Respect: Learn how a "spiritual elimination diet" helps us discard dishonorable thoughts and cultivate a mind worthy of respect (Ephesians 5:15–16). Just & Pure Intentions: Examine how God’s righteousness guides our judgments of others and how purity flows from within, long before it manifests in our actions (Romans 12:19, Mark 7:21, James 1:14–15, Job 31:1). Lovely & Good Report: Reject the world's obsession with negative news. While bad reports often spread because they make us feel superior, meditating on good, commendable reports inspires genuine growth and self-reflection (Psalm 119:68). As mature believers, our question isn’t merely "Can I think about this?" but "Should I?" (1 Corinthians 10:23). What we allow our minds to dwell on inevitably travels to our hearts, shapes our desires, and dictates our actions (Proverbs 23:7, Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 10:5). Join us as we discover how, through God’s strength, we can take every thought captive, surrender our minds to His peace, and continuously choose what is virtue and praise.

When God Is At Work - General Preaching

It is easy for the church to become consumed with human effort—focusing on performance, duty, and exterior results while neglecting a deep, walking relationship with God. In this convicting message, Pastor examines the danger of relying on humanism (trying to be our own power source) and legalism (trying to earn God's favor through work rather than grace). Rooted in Philippians 2:13, this sermon shifts our focus from what we can do for God to what God desires to do in us. Real spiritual transformation does not happen from the outside in through pressure, manipulation, or man-made systems; it happens from the inside out as God transforms our hearts and aligns our desires with His. Key Takeaways Inward Work Before Outward Service: Before God works through a people, He must first work in them. True Christian living is not merely about looking or acting the part, but surrendering to the Lordship of Christ to become truly Christ-like. God Transforms Our Desires ("To Will"): God doesn't just give us a list of duties; He changes what we want to do. When God places a call or a burden on your heart, He supplies an intense, supernatural desire to fulfill it. Obedience and Availability ("To Do"): While God gives the desire, we are called to yield our free will in active obedience. God does not demand extraordinary talent—He seeks believers who simply pray, "Here am I, Lord, send me." Every Member Has a Purpose: God places every believer into the body of Christ according to His divine design. Whether serving publicly behind a pulpit or faithfully behind the scenes in quiet prayer and witnessing, no member is an accident, and no faithful service is ever wasted. God Gets the Glory: We plant and we water, but God alone gives the increase. When ministry is driven by the heart rather than external pressure, the focus remains on humbling ourselves so that God receives all the praise.
