    054: I Married a Sales Savage

Recorded straight from Turks and Caicos (yes, with a slightly sunburned forehead and a sunset cruise on deck), this episode of The Posers Podcast brings a very special guest into the studio… Mr. Hendricks himself! For the first time ever, a man enters the Poser space — and not just any man. A fully vetted, feminist, sales-genius husband who has ranked #1 or #2 globally in multiple companies and who can sell with both heart and heat. This episode is a candid, real-time conversation about sales — what it actually looks like behind the scenes when two sales-obsessed brains share a marriage and morning walks. We dive into: Why sales is sales — no matter the industry The two objections you will always face (and what they’re really about) How to proactively identify objections before they happen The “spouse objection” and how to neutralize it early Why asking questions is more powerful than making statements What the “croc brain” is and how to move clients out of fear Pattern interrupts and why they work The difference between price and cost Consequence-based questions vs desire-based questions Why selling with integrity is not “salesy” How emotional anchoring drives decisions And how to close without ever feeling gross If you’ve ever felt weird about selling…If you’ve ever worried about sounding pushy…If you’ve ever thought, “I just want to be an artist, not a salesperson”… This episode will reframe everything. 053: They’re Not Just Booking Your Photos. They’re Booking You

Every few months I bring someone on the podcast because I know you’re probably sick of hearing just my voice. And this one? She’s a treat. In this episode, I sit down with the one and only Alex Blake—senior photographer, content queen, and certified social media wizard. I’ve been quietly stalking her work for months (in the least serial-killer way possible), and I needed to get inside her brain. We’re talking about the kind of social media that doesn’t just look cute… it actually builds a cult following. The kind that turns lurkers into loyalists and clients into ride-or-dies. And trust me—we go there. From filming literally everything on her shoots… to photographing in a Wendy’s bathroom for a creative challenge… to sharing real-life heartbreak and pregnancy updates in real time… this conversation is about showing up boldly and letting people watch you build. Because that’s what creates connection. And connection is what creates demand. 052: A Sales Mistake That Cost Me Bookings

This episode is about a mistake I made after everything went right. I delivered a keynote to a room full of powerful, accomplished women. The energy was high. The conversation landed. I booked shoots on the spot. And then I quietly lost momentum in the days that followed. Not because I lacked confidence. Not because I didn’t know how to sell. But because of how I followed up. In this episode, I unpack the sales mistake that cost me bookings and why it’s one so many photographers make without realizing it. We talk about what happens when follow-ups become heavy, why being “helpful” can actually shut down decision-making, and how easily opportunity slips away after a strong in-person moment. I also walk through two real scenarios from photographers inside the mastermind. One about hosting in-studio events and turning community building into real bookings. Another about running collaborative giveaways and why attention without structure rarely converts. This episode is for photographers who are doing the hard parts right but still feel like momentum disappears afterward. If you’ve ever walked away from a great event, conversation, or collaboration and wondered why it didn’t turn into more bookings, this episode will shift how you think about sales and follow-up. 051: BRAIN ON FIRE

Yesterday was day one of the newest round of the Posers Mastermind — and I walked away from that call knowing, without question, that this is exactly the work I’m meant to be doing. I taught brand new material. Nothing recycled. Nothing I’ve ever shared publicly. And when the call ended, my DMs exploded with the same message over and over again:“I’ve never thought about marketing like this.”“My brain is on fire.”“How did I miss this for so long?” In this episode, I’m unpacking why day one hit so hard — without breaking the fourth wall or giving the methodology away. Because the truth is, this has nothing to do with tactics. It has everything to do with how I’ve always shown up in my business — long before Instagram stories, reels, carousels, or content calendars existed. I take you back to 2008. Before “personal branding.” Before social media strategy. Before photographers were taught to sound the same. We talk about how documenting real life — weddings, chaos, timelines, jumpsuits, divorce, rebuilding, fear, and growth — quietly built an ecosystem that scaled a business from $41K to multi–six figures without competing on price. This episode dives into:– Why building an audience is the same thing as building a client list– Why competition disappears when loyalty is strong– How the platforms change, but human psychology never does– The danger of the sea of sameness– And why conviction is what makes a business unshakeable This isn’t a how-to episode. It’s a perspective shift. If you’ve ever felt anxious about competition, unsure how to stand out without performing, or confused why doing “all the right things” still isn’t translating into demand — this one will land differently. And if you’ve been watching the mastermind from the outside thinking, “I should’ve joined,” the waitlist is open for future rounds. No pressure. No commitment. Just a place to raise your hand and say you want to understand this deeper. See you next week, Posers. 050: Intentional Discomfort

In this episode, I’m sharing a very honest look at what real growth has required of me as a business owner, and why staying comfortable has never been the thing that moved me forward. I talk about the reality of investing in education that feels intimidating, the experience of sitting in rooms where I’m still learning the language, and why some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned have come from spaces outside of the photography industry. We explore the importance of staying open-minded as you grow, how exposure to different perspectives can strengthen your business, and why learning doesn’t always come from places that feel familiar or immediately validating. I also break down a concept that deeply shifted the way I think about sustainability in photography: Lifetime Value of a Client versus Cost of Acquisition. Inside this conversation, you’ll hear about: • why a busy calendar doesn’t always equal a stable business • how understanding your numbers can reduce panic during slow seasons • why deepening client relationships often matters more than finding new ones • how small structural changes can create long-term resilience • what it means to build a business that supports both your life and your family This episode is for photographers who are curious about growing with intention, who want to make decisions based on clarity instead of urgency, and who are ready to think a little differently about what success can look like. If you find yourself nodding along as you listen, you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. The doors to The Mastermind close in two days, and this episode offers a glimpse into the kind of conversations we have inside that room. 049: THIS ISN'T IPS

This isn't IPS, it's her ugly step-sister that shows up for family dinners ready to start some shit. And if you’re running this pricing model, it’s likely costing you far more than simply dealing with a toxic family dinner. In this episode, I’m breaking down a pricing model that’s often labeled “IPS-ish,” “simpler,” or “more client-friendly,” and explaining why it quietly strips away the very things that make IPS work in the first place. On the surface, it looks modern and efficient. Underneath, it removes urgency, emotional momentum, and leadership at the exact moment your client needs it most. I share a real conversation with a client that stopped me in my tracks and perfectly illustrates what happens when photographers hand decision-making back to clients instead of guiding them through it. This is not about talent or effort. It’s about what happens when a system forces clients to choose alone, under restriction, and without context. We talk about the psychology behind how people actually make decisions, why emotion has to lead the buying process, and what goes wrong when logic is introduced too early. I also explain why galleries get abandoned, why clients freeze instead of finishing orders, and why this model feels easier but produces smaller, quieter results. This episode is not about shaming photographers. It’s about calling out bad education and raising the standard of what we teach as “luxury.” Because when a system fails this consistently, it’s not the photographers who are the problem. If you’ve ever felt capped even when your work is strong, or wondered why your pricing feels harder to sell than it should, this episode will connect dots you may not have realized were related. At the time I’m recording this, there are two spots left inside the POSERS Mastermind. If this conversation feels uncomfortably familiar, that’s not an accident. The link to apply is RIGHT HERE... or the link to the waitlist for the next round of the mastermind is RIGHT HERE. 048: This Education Failed Photographers

This episode is not a pricing conversation. It is a demand for better education. I am breaking down one of the most widely taught IPS pricing structures in the photography industry, the sliding-scale discount model, and explaining why it is actively undermining photographers while being sold as “luxury” and “value-based.” This model is not misunderstood. It is structurally unsound. And it is being taught without anyone running it through real luxury-buying psychology. In this episode, I dismantle the belief that discounting digitals incentivizes products. Using math, consumer psychology, and luxury brand behavior, I explain how this structure penalizes photographers for selling well, trains clients to shop for thresholds instead of value, and devalues the only irreplaceable asset in a photography business: the digital images. I address the damage done by labeling “digital-only” clients as a problem, when in reality the problem is a pricing system rooted in fear, people-pleasing, and outdated assumptions. Selling an entire gallery for a few hundred dollars is structural sabotage that guarantees income caps, resentment, and constant self-negotiation. I draw direct parallels between photography pricing and true luxury markets, referencing brands like Hermès and Dior to illustrate the difference between bargain psychology and investment psychology. I also break down the Veblen effect and use Chanel’s recent price increases to show how luxury brands protect their icons instead of discounting them. This episode reframes digital images as what they actually are: intellectual property, currency, and the foundation of a sustainable business. Physical products are not the hero. They are the expansion. When that hierarchy is reversed, the business eventually breaks. This is part one of a two-part series. Next week, I am breaking down a pricing system that is even more damaging than the sliding-scale discount model, and why continuing to ignore these foundations costs photographers far more than money. At the time I am recording this episode, there are two spots left inside the POSERS Mastermind. If this episode feels like I'm speaking straight to you, that is the point. 047: Faithful or Traitor

We’re kicking off the year by burning the planner, canceling the checklist, and telling the truth about why resolutions fail most people by March. In this episode, I unpack why goals often collapse under pressure, why doing more is rarely the answer, and why so many photographers build beautiful businesses that still quietly suffocate them. We talk about capacity. Nervous systems. The difference between decorating the box you’re in versus asking if the box is even big enough for the life you say you want. I share the metaphor that rearranged my brain this year, why my word for 2026 is expansion, and the uncomfortable reality that growth does not come from adding more habits, offers, or hustle. It comes from being willing to put something down. Time. Energy. Distractions. And yes, sometimes even Bravo. This episode is for the high-achieving woman who is already doing a lot, already trying hard, already successful on paper, but knows deep down that something is still capping her financially, creatively, or emotionally. If someone were watching a TV show of your life, what would they be screaming at the screen for you to change? That question alone might be the key to everything. No resolutions. No hustle sermons. Just an honest conversation about space, capacity, desire, and what it actually takes to expand into the life you keep saying you want. Welcome to the first episode of the year. Let’s make it count.
