    CONFESSION files-The 3 things I've worried may DISQUALIFY me as a doula coach (but actually QUALIFY me to MY people)

    I definitely feel uncomfortable sharing this episode BUT transparency and authenticity are some of my strongest values in how I show up for my community. In this episode I am sharing 3 of my "doula coach confessions" that I have never "kept secret" but have not said out loud in this way either. I mention in this episode that my "disqualifiers" are also my "qualifiers" in SO many ways. I also share to be a walking permission slip for doulas wanting to do things THEIR way, against the grain, and know that there is a different way to do things when you are juggling a career in birth work alongside pregnancies, young kids, financial pressure and life in general.     The TRUTH of how I've been DROWNING in motherhood & what I'm very NOT PROUD of

    Long story short, Motherhood has not "come easy" to me, and I have NOT been showing up as the mom I desire to be. FAR from her. Peek behind the curtain of what things have been like for me the last couple months in motherhood, the "ah ha's" I'm having, and the things I'm being faced with head on so I can make needed changes. This is NOT doula related AT ALL, but I know my people are majority moms and are juggling business and motherhood. This does NOT make me feel "hirable", or an "expert in the space", but being transparent with my audience is a core value of mine so I felt it on my heart to unveil the highlight reel and share some of the "not great" things I've been dealing with. The real and the raw of what I am NOT proud of, but felt I NEEDED to share. I do hope this makes you feel less alone in your own journey.     Spilling the TEA: I realized I was not in my own Big Doula Energy + Massive newfound clarity I'm FINALLY OWNING

    Getting vulnerable today and spilling some BTS tea. As you all know, I share all the time, about stepping into your big doula energy. Well a few weeks ago MY coach told me "Taylor, you're not fully in YOUR Big Doula Energy", and damn that was a gut punch. But I knew she was right. In this episode I share: Areas where I was not (and maybe still am not) showing up as authentic and bold as I could be. Where I still have work to do peeling back the onion of my most true beliefs and shadows. Questions I am asking myself (and you can ask yourself) in order to dive deeper into those shadows How impostor syndrome showed up for me as I pivoted from doula to doula coach. How important it is to me that I walk the walk I talk so that I can allow that to trickle down to YOU and then to your clients The new found clarity and direction for my signature program that I was able to finally OWN!     I make sure to say these 5 things in EVERY CONSULT to keep UNALIGNED clients from hiring me

    5 things I would NEVER have in my doula contract and WHY-Part 1- this one is spicy!

    Inside this episode I spill the tea on 5 of the clauses that I see or hear about doulas adding to their contracts that I would NOT add to mine. I dive into WHY I would not add these things to my contract, why they don't make sense, are in disservice to the client, or are even out of integrity. I DO however understand the intention behind having these in the contract and that doulas are simply attempting to set and hold boundaries to keep themselves from burning out. There is always nuance and of course I bring that to this conversation. I recorded a part 2 adding in my solutions/alternatives to these clauses that are both very supportive of the client AND allow the doula to uphold boundaries that support their lifestyle needs.
