Season 1 Finale: Review of "More: A Memoir of Open Marriage"

Amy & Tommy close out the premiere season of Work From Bed Friday with a review of "More: A Memoir of Open Marriage" by Molly Roden Winter. They disagree about Winter's motives, wonder about how on earth people have time for polyamory, and discuss the the cringe moments that pepper the whole book. It's the story of a one woman's evolution through dating apps and fairly subpar sex that was still a good listen while painting the bedroom.  In addition, they include two new segments: "A Titillating Tidbit" (more discussion on a titillating topic!) and "Let's Make it a Threesome!" Made, Found, Favor: Our Epic Anti-Consumerism Gifting Tradition

A long lost Brady Bunch episode inspired a gifting tradition in the Borffmann household that has been going strong for 20 years! Instead of purchasing gifts for Christmas, Amy and Tommy and their two daughters exchange only three types of gifts: homemade items, found items,, and favors/acts of service. Not only does the tradition short-circuit the consumerism frenzy that typically dominates the season, but it centers creativity, joy, and magic.     In this episode, they trace the roots of the tradition and recount stories of memorable gifts, while providing inspiration and tips for anyone looking for a new way to gift!   Just in case you want to actually purchase a gift for someone you love, here are a list of books that have been mentioned this season! For the peri-menopausal set. And husbands! — All Fours by Miranda July For the poets and the poets-at-heart — Mules of Love by Ellen Bass For the deep thinkers — Transformative Experience by L. A. Paul For you — Come As You Are by Emily Nagowski For your partner — Magnificent Sex by Peggy Kleinplatz and A.
