No Means No… So Why Is It Still So Complicated?

⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses sexual assault, sexual abuse, rape, trauma, consent, and victim-blaming. Some topics may be difficult or triggering for survivors. What happens when a culture becomes so accustomed to sexual harassment, assault, abuse, victim-blaming, and blurred boundaries that we stop questioning the behavior itself?  This episode of From Dirt We Grow brings the conversation so many are not willing to have. My guest is a social media educator and advocate who uses her platform to challenge harmful attitudes surrounding sexual violence and help people better understand consent, boundaries, trauma, and the realities survivors face. We'll talk about: • What "rape culture" actually means • Why victim-blaming continues to be so common • Consent and why it shouldn't be complicated • The myths surrounding sexual assault • How we teach children about boundaries and consent • And most importantly—what can we do differently? This isn't about demonizing one gender. It's about asking whether we can build a culture where boundaries are respected, consent is understood, survivors are believed and supported, and sexual violence isn't treated as something inevitable.   If this conversation resonates with you, share it. Someone watching may need to hear that they aren't alone.   ******************************** Find today's guest, Radical Hippy, on: tiktok   ********************************* *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc.

Race, Division & Understanding. Two Women, One Honest Conversation.

America has become increasingly divided, and conversations about race often end before they truly begin. Instead of another shouting match or viral confrontation, this episode of From Dirt We Grow brings together two women from different backgrounds for an honest, respectful conversation. We discuss the Black experience in America, the role history continues to play, personal experiences, media narratives, systemic challenges, individual responsibility, and the ways division is amplified in today's culture. While we don't see every issue exactly the same, we found something that's becoming increasingly rare—an ability to listen, ask questions, challenge ideas respectfully, and search for common ground without pretending our differences don't exist. This episode is about encouraging thoughtful conversation, critical thinking, and reminding ourselves that meaningful dialogue is still possible. Whether you agree with us, disagree with us, or fall somewhere in between, we hope this conversation inspires more people to replace assumptions with understanding, and have the conversations that need to be had. _____________________________ Find today's guest, Political Unicorn or AJ, on socials: Spotify Apple podcasts YouTube Instagram LinkTree ______________________________ PLEASE BE SURE TO SHARE THIS EPISODE!! ______________________________ *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc. #FromDirtWeGrow #RaceInAmerica #BlackExperience #Unity #Dialogue #CriticalThinking #Podcast #Community #CivilConversation #Perspective #CurrentEvents #America Thank you for subscribing.
