Best Sites to Upload Music as an Independent Artist

Where should independent artists upload music in 2026? In this episode, we break down the best places to upload music, what each platform is actually designed for, and the difference between direct music uploads, music distribution, streaming platforms and direct-to-fan services. We compare options including BTR Music, SoundCloud, Audiomack, Bandcamp, YouTube and Spotify, and explain which route makes the most sense depending on whether your goal is discovery, streaming, fan support, sales or getting your music onto major DSPs. If you're an independent artist trying to work out where to upload your next track, beat, EP or release, this episode will help you choose the right platform instead of uploading everywhere without a strategy. 🎵 Upload your music to BTR: https://beatstorapon.com/upload-music 📖 Read the full guide — Where to Upload Music in 2026: https://beatstorapon.com/blog/where-to-upload-music/ 📖 How to Upload Music Online: https://beatstorapon.com/blog/how-to-upload-music-online/ 🎧 BTR Music: https://btrmusic.com/ 🎤 For artists: https://beatstorapon.com/ Platforms discussed: SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/ Audiomack https://audiomack.com/ Bandcamp https://bandcamp.com/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/ Spotify for Artists https://artists.spotify.com/ Apple Music for Artists https://artists.apple.com/ Whether you're releasing hip-hop, Afrobeats, R&B, drill, electronic music, instrumentals or DJ mixes, the right upload strategy depends on what you want to happen after the music goes live. THE MUSIC DSP'S MIDDLEMAN MACHINE IS BEING PUT ON NOTICE.

For years, independent artists were told the dream was simple: Upload your music.Get on every platform.Watch the dashboard.Hope the algorithm notices. That was never freedom. That was the middleman machine. Aggregators gave artists access, but not ownership of the fan relationship. Streaming platforms gave artists numbers, but not a real community. Dashboards made artists stare at data while their actual fans stayed locked behind someone else’s platform. BTR is building something different. The BTR Mobile App is not another place to dump tracks into the ocean and pray. It is a direct artist-and-fan economy built around scenes, crews, discovery, live events, merchandise, support, and eligible mobile streaming payouts. No more passive upload culture. No more hiding behind fake reach. No more treating artists like content suppliers for someone else’s machine. This is about direct connection. Artists need real profiles. Real cover art. Real genres. Clean metadata. Actual standards. Because if the culture is going to move through BTR, the platform has to protect the serious artists who are building something real. The old system rewarded volume. BTR is betting on quality, community, and direct fan attention. That is the shift. Not music uploaded everywhere.Music owned somewhere.Music connected to people.Music connected to scenes.Music connected to the artist. The middleman machine had its run. Now the artists go direct. Producer Split Sheets: How Rappers and Producers Protect Their Royalties

In this episode of The Deep Dive, we break down why producer split sheets matter for rappers, beatmakers, songwriters, and independent artists. Based on BeatsToRapOn’s guide to producer split sheets, this episode explains how publishing splits, master royalties, producer points, beat licenses, exclusive beats, leased beats, PRO registrations, and royalty disputes all connect before a song is released. It is a practical music business guide for artists and producers who want to protect their ownership, avoid frozen royalties, and handle collaborations professionally.
