Stop Letting Your Past Tell You You’re Not Good Enough | #69

What if your past failures weren't proof that you're not good enough—but preparation for where God is taking you next? In Episode 69 of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper challenges us to make a fundamental mental shift. Too often, we take past mistakes, disappointments, and outcomes that didn't go the way we hoped and turn them into a statement about our identity: “I'm not good enough.” But what if failure isn't your identity? What if those experiences were opportunities to learn, grow, mature, and prepare for what's next? Barry shares the example of Michael Jordan's willingness to fail repeatedly on his journey toward success and connects that mindset to something even greater for believers: moving forward with confidence when the Holy Spirit is nudging us toward an opportunity. Instead of automatically thinking: “I may fail.” What if your mindset became: “I may succeed—because I have God.” In this episode: ✔️ Stop allowing past failures to define you ✔️ Change the way you think about failure ✔️ See unsuccessful outcomes as opportunities to learn ✔️ Overcome the fear of trying again ✔️ Renew your mind through prayer ✔️ Trust the Holy Spirit when God calls you forward ✔️ Develop a Kingdom mindset about your capabilities ✔️ Move forward even when you can't see the outcome Your past doesn't get to determine what God can do through your future. Renew your mind. Trust God. And take the next step. #TransitionalClay #FearOfFailure #ChristianMotivation #RenewYourMind #FaithOverFear #ChristianLiving #HolySpirit #Faith #SpiritualGrowth #TrustGod st to define your future, and move confidently toward what God is calling you to do.

Is God Convicting You—or Are You Condemning Yourself? | #68

Is God convicting you—or are you condemning yourself? There is an important difference. In Episode 68 of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper shares how he once struggled to distinguish healthy conviction from condemnation—and why understanding the difference matters in our relationship with Christ. Barry explains it simply: Conviction identifies what needs to change and leads us toward Christ. Condemnation attacks who we are and drives us away from Christ. Using Romans 8:1 as the biblical foundation, Barry explores why correction from the Holy Spirit isn't intended to destroy, demean, or separate us from God. Healthy conviction can reveal a specific attitude, thought, action, motive, or pattern that needs repentance and redirect us toward Christ. In this episode: ✔️ Conviction vs. condemnation ✔️ How to recognize healthy spiritual correction ✔️ Why condemnation can lead to hiding and isolation ✔️ How the Holy Spirit points us toward repentance ✔️ Romans 8:1 and freedom from condemnation ✔️ Why God's correction isn't God's rejection ✔️ How conviction can bring us back into alignment with Christ Barry compares conviction to a good coach correcting an athlete—not to remove them from the team, but to help them grow and move toward their potential. God's correction isn't meant to push you away. It can be an invitation to come closer. #TransitionalClay #Conviction #Condemnation #HolySpirit #Romans8 #ChristianLiving #Faith #SpiritualGrowth #ChristianPodcast (00:00) - The Battle Against Your Growth (00:23) - Conviction or Condemnation? Forgiveness Does NOT Mean You Have to Trust Them Again | #67

Does forgiving someone mean you have to trust them again? In this episode of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper tackles an important distinction Christians can sometimes struggle with: Forgiveness and trust are not the same thing. Forgiveness can release the weight and turmoil you're carrying because of an offense. But forgiving someone doesn't necessarily mean immediately giving that person full access to your life again. Trust may need to be rebuilt. Barry points to Jesus' example of forgiveness and then explores John 2:23–25, where Scripture describes people believing in Jesus while Jesus did not entrust Himself to them because He understood what was in their hearts. Barry also shares a personal story of being deeply hurt by someone he respected. He chose forgiveness, but rebuilding trust took time—and the other person's actions eventually demonstrated genuine love. In this episode: ✔️ What Christian forgiveness really means ✔️ The difference between forgiveness and trust ✔️ Why forgiveness doesn't automatically restore access ✔️ How healthy trust can be rebuilt ✔️ What Jesus teaches us about forgiveness ✔️ Why boundaries can coexist with forgiveness ✔️ How taking an offense to God can release the weight you're carrying You may not even need the other person to know you've forgiven them. Take the offense to God. Release the burden. Forgive—and allow trust to be rebuilt appropriately. #TransitionalClay #ChristianForgiveness #Forgiveness #ChristianBoundaries #Trust #ChristianLiving #Faith #ChristianPodcast #SpiritualGrowth (00:00) - Forgiveness Releases the Weight (00:17) - Forgiveness Doesn't Mean Full Access (01:21) - Trust Must Be Rebuilt (02:40) - What Jesus Teaches About Trust (03:31) - Barry's Personal Experience With Forgiveness (05:02) - Take the Offense to God

You're wrong about control... and I can prove it | #66

What are you still trying to control that God is asking you to surrender? In Episode 66 of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper gets vulnerable about his own journey of learning to yield control to God. For years, Barry turned to the flesh for temporary relief from frustration, fear, anxiety, and the pressures of everyday life. He openly shares about his struggle with pornography and how instant gratification offered short-term relief—but kept him trapped in a repeating cycle. Then he began understanding the truth of Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding. The circumstances of life didn't necessarily disappear. His response changed. Instead of relying on his own understanding and temporary solutions, Barry began learning to relinquish control and yield to Christ. In this episode: ✔️ Why surrendering control to God can be difficult ✔️ Barry's personal struggle with pornography and the flesh ✔️ How instant gratification creates temporary relief ✔️ Why surrender usually isn't an overnight process ✔️ Releasing fear, anxiety, pride, and control ✔️ Trusting God's wisdom instead of your own understanding ✔️ Why God may use the process instead of immediately removing the struggle ✔️ How your journey can become a testimony for someone else ✔️ Why you don't have to surrender everything at once ✔️ The power of choosing one thing to give God this week Barry reminds us that God understands transformation takes time. The process can involve repetition, dependence, and continually choosing to yield. So here's the challenge: Choose one thing. One fear. One habit. One worry. One area you're trying to control. Place it in God's hands and pray: “Lord, walk me through releasing this to You.” 🎙️ Episode 66 of Transitional Clay is available now. #TransitionalClay #SurrenderToGod #TrustGod #LetGoAndLetGod #ChristianPodcast #Faith #ChristianLiving #SpiritualGrowth (00:00) - Intro (00:23) - Learning to Yield to God (02:48) - Barry's Struggle With the Flesh (05:14) - Stop Leaning on Your Own Understanding (07:40) - Surrender Doesn't Happen Overnight (10:04) - Breaking the Cycle of Control (12:17) - Choose One Thing to Yield (14:15) - Why God Takes Us Through the Process (15:46) - Closing Prayer

Is Your Life Out of Alignment With God? | #65

Are you following Christ—but still have areas of your life that are out of alignment with Him? In Episode 65 of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper challenges us to examine what it really means to align our lives with God’s will. Alignment begins with trust. But saying “I trust God” isn’t enough. Barry explains that our daily, hourly, weekly, and monthly decisions become practical evidence of that trust. And contrary to what Barry once believed, aligning your life with Christ doesn’t lead to a boring, restricted existence. As his relationship with Jesus deepened, Barry discovered something very different: Joy. Freedom. Purpose. Abundance. In this episode: ✔️ What spiritual alignment actually means ✔️ Trusting God’s will for your life ✔️ Turning trust into daily decisions ✔️ Why obedience isn’t boring ✔️ Finding greater joy and freedom in Christ ✔️ Letting your life speak louder than your words ✔️ Redefining success through Christ ✔️ Identifying habits that have become misaligned ✔️ Why healthy Christian community matters ✔️ Aligning your calendar and priorities with God ✔️ Seeking God’s direction through Proverbs 3:5–6 Barry challenges us to stop focusing only on what following Christ might cost us and recognize what God wants to give us through a life aligned with Him. Alignment can redefine what joy, success, freedom, and abundance actually mean. This week, ask: “Lord, where am I out of alignment with You?” Then give Him permission to show you. 👍 Like 🔔 Subscribe 📲 Share this episode with someone who needs this encouragement. #TransitionalClay #GodsWill #ChristianLiving #TrustGod #Faith #SpiritualGrowth #ChristianPodcast #Obedience (00:00) - Intro (00:16) - What Does Alignment With God Mean? Is That God’s Voice—or Your Own Thoughts? | #64

How do you know when God is speaking to you—and when it’s simply your own thoughts? In Episode 64 of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper shares his personal journey of learning to recognize and discern God’s voice. Earlier in his walk with Christ, Barry says his relationship with God was inconsistent. Because he wasn’t grounded in Scripture, he sometimes interpreted negative thoughts—You messed up. You’ll never get this right—as discipline or anger from God. As his relationship with Christ matured, something changed. He began learning to listen. Today, Barry describes listening to Christ as being as important to his daily life as breathing. In this episode, discover: ✔️ How Barry recognizes God’s voice ✔️ Why Scripture is essential for discernment ✔️ What to do when you think God has spoken ✔️ Why it’s okay to ask God for confirmation ✔️ How prayer and worship help us listen ✔️ Why Christian community matters ✔️ How trusted believers can help confirm direction ✔️ Why God often gives us small, daily instructions ✔️ How to pause before acting ✔️ Why we aren’t supposed to accomplish God’s assignments alone Barry emphasizes that God’s Word gives us truth against which we can evaluate what we believe we’re hearing. The more grounded we become in Scripture, the better equipped we are to recognize what aligns—or doesn’t align—with Christ. And once God gives you something? Pause. Pray. Go to Scripture. Seek confirmation. Ask for strength. Then obey. As Jesus says in John 10:27: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” 🎙️ Watch Episode 64 of Transitional Clay and begin intentionally listening for God this week. 💬 What helps you discern God’s voice in your life? #TransitionalClay #HearingGod #GodsVoice #ChristianPodcast #HolySpirit #ChristianLiving #Faith #SpiritualGrowth

Before You Make Your Next Move, Pray for This | #63

Before you make your next move, have you asked God for clarity? In Episode 63 of Transitional Clay, Barry Harper challenges us to seek God's clarity for the season we're in—not just about where we're going, but about who we are becoming along the way. When criticism comes, circumstances change, or a challenge makes you question whether you're on the right path, clarity about your identity in Christ can keep someone else's words from defining you. Barry explains that there are times God may reveal that it's time to pivot—and other times He hasn't released you from the difficult place you're walking through. That's why we need to continually seek Him for direction. In this episode: ✔️ How clarity strengthens your identity in Christ ✔️ Knowing when to stay and when to pivot ✔️ Why clarity requires ongoing prayer ✔️ Responding to negativity with love ✔️ Asking God to search and change your heart ✔️ Giving God the glory when victory comes ✔️ Finding clarity in your work, family, and current season Barry also challenges us to ask God for clarity about the condition of our own hearts: What needs to shift? What needs to be removed? What will help us draw closer to Christ? Don't let confusion make your next decision. Pray for clarity. 👍 Like this episode 🔔 Subscribe to Transitional Clay #TransitionalClay #ClarityFromGod #TrustGod #ChristianPodcast #GodsWill #Faith #ChristianLiving #SpiritualGrowth (00:00) - Intro (00:19) - Finding Clarity for Your Current Season (02:44) - Knowing Who You Are in Christ (05:08) - When to Stay and When to Pivot (07:35) - Praying Daily for Clarity (09:59) - Asking God to Search Your Heart (12:25) - Clarity in Work, Family & Daily Life (14:19) - This Week's Clarity Challenge

Jesus Had All Authority… Then He Did This | #62

What does real power look like according to Jesus? The world often defines power through influence, control, position, wealth, or the ability to tell others what to do. Jesus demonstrated something radically different. In Episode 62 of the Transitional Clay Podcast, Barry explores John 13, where Scripture tells us that Jesus knew the Father had given Him authority over everything. And what did Jesus do with that authority? He removed His robe. He knelt down. And He washed His disciples’ feet. This episode becomes a deeply personal and Spirit-led conversation about: What Biblical authority actually looks likeWhy Jesus connected leadership with serviceLoving people without excusing sinThe meaning of agape loveServing your spouse and family practicallyAllowing Jesus to “wash your feet”Choosing truth over deceptionLetting the Holy Spirit develop Christlike qualities in youBarry also shares a powerful reminder from John 3:16: God loved the world first. Our responsibility is not to condemn people—it is to love them while still standing firmly on truth. This episode wasn’t delivered exactly as planned. Barry shares that the Holy Spirit redirected the message because someone needed to hear one simple truth: God loves you. There is nothing in your past—or your present—that places you outside His invitation to relationship.
