The Northern Aggression Podcast isn’t for the easily offended. Hosted by Marshall, a sharp-tongued Chicagoan with zero filter, and Gunter, the Southern counterpart who keeps things just unhinged enough, this podcast takes on everything—and we mean everything. No topic is safe, no opinion is sugarcoated, and no one gets a free pass. If you can’t handle the heat, this ain’t the show for you. northernaggressionpod@gmail.com

    Bonus Episode: Pinkies and Holes

A simple text message goes spectacularly wrong when Gunter relies on speech-to-text, producing results that leave Marshall far more entertained than she intended. What should have been a routine conversation turns into comedy gold, and Marshall is determined to make sure everyone hears about it. From there, the conversation takes several completely unnecessary detours. The pair brainstorm bizarre TikTok Live ideas centered around paint colors and their increasingly ridiculous names. Marshall then decides it's the perfect time to explain fractals, seemingly under the impression that everyone else already knows what they are. Gunter's eyes glaze over almost immediately. Things really go off the rails when the letter L becomes the topic of conversation. Marshall takes it as a personal challenge to use every L word he can think of, much to Gunter's growing annoyance. Dinner doesn't provide any relief. The restaurant has the Girls Little League Softball World Series on TV, and Marshall can't stop critiquing what he sees as a complete lack of baseball fundamentals. Gunter also catches heat for her daily beverage of choice, proving that nothing she eats or drinks is safe from Marshall's commentary. If there's one lesson to take away from this episode, it's Gunter's advice: never go out to eat with Marshall if there's a television nearby. He'll spend more time analyzing what's on the screen than enjoying his meal. It's speech-to-text disasters, mathematical rabbit holes, softball critiques, and one very patient co-host trying to survive another dinner with Marshall.

    Bonus Episode: Northern Zero

Marshall and Gunter kick off the episode with a stop at Chick-fil-A during their trip through northern Illinois, where they discover the experience is surprisingly different from what they're used to in the South. That observation sends Gunter down a dangerous path when she asks Marshall why religion seems so different between the North and the South. She quickly realizes she may have opened a can of worms. Marshall then unveils what may be his worst contribution to society: his nickname for Chick-fil-A's Chicken Minis sauce, "Sticky Sweet Num Num Sauce." Gunter immediately mocks him for it, and rightfully so. On the drive home, they stop at Gunter's favorite Mexican restaurant, Garcia's in Frankfort, Kentucky. Instead of enjoying a peaceful meal, Marshall becomes completely engrossed in the conversation at the table behind them. A group confidently discussing the geography of Ohio gets nearly everything wrong, sending Marshall into full rant mode. Even Gunter, who usually gives people the benefit of the doubt, can't understand how anyone could be that bad at geography. The same table also features a man announcing he doesn't want a margarita... but is somehow still tempted, which only adds to the confusion. As if geography wasn't enough to ruin his day, Marshall has more thoughts to share about Buc-ee's, proving once again that no business is safe from his unsolicited opinions. It's Chicken Minis, questionable geography, religious discussions, and Buc-ee's complaints—all held together by an unhealthy amount of Sticky Sweet Num Num Sauce.

Bonus Episode: $hit That Comes Out Of The Ground Oil

Marshall and Gunter flip the script in this episode, with Gunter taking the lead on cultural observations while Marshall finds plenty to critique. Fresh off a trip to northern Illinois to help clean out Marshall's dad's house, they compare Midwestern and Southern ways of life—and discover they're worlds apart. Gunter is amazed by the seemingly endless recycling options, explaining that back home she just takes everything to the dump... where, naturally, people sort through everyone else's trash. Marshall, tasked with cleaning out the garage, repeatedly uncovers what he dramatically labels "hazardous chemicals," while Gunter insists it's just normal car stuff. Along the way, they solve two family mysteries: Marshall's parents apparently saved every twist tie they've ever touched, and everything in the house was stored in a bag... inside another bag... inside another bag. Marshall can't believe how Gunter disposes of used fryer oil, or that bacon grease is apparently a staple of Southern kitchens. A simple conversation somehow turns into a complete misunderstanding over whether there was a dead animal involved, and Marshall launches into yet another rant—this time about the economics of recycling. Naturally, John Denver and "Take Me Home, Country Roads" make an appearance for reasons no one can adequately explain. The trip also uncovers the Find of the Week, and trust us, it's a good one. Marshall closes with an earnest plea to the audience: for everyone's sake, please include your genealogy in sympathy cards. It's recycling, regional differences, twist-tie archaeology, and enough family history to fill several bags... inside several more bags... inside several more bags.

    Chewing Jesus

Gunter and Marshall record on Valentine’s Day, which means romance… obviously not. Marshall kicks things off by throwing shade at the Canadian curling cheating scandal, because nothing says love like sports controversy. Gunter looks up restaurant wait times and discovers that Texas Roadhouse is clocking in at two-plus hours. Marshall wonders if they should interview the people willing to wait that long for steak. He also makes an inappropriate joke about Cracker Barrel’s loyalty reward “pegs,” proving once again that no branding is safe. Marshall continues battling technology issues, prompting Gunter to suggest he just get an old-timey TV. Somehow that leads to crypto, an Enron sweatshirt sighting at the D.C. airport, and the missed opportunity for Waste Management to sponsor at Minute Maid Park after the Astros trash can scandal. Marshall declares we’re past “peak doodle” now that people are realizing the dogs are neurotic. The two then dive into a surprisingly intense debate about eating habits, Taco Bell ordering fiascos, and Marshall’s ongoing disdain for DoorDash—even though he’s used it. Once. They cover communion bread, Marshall briefly being nominated as a financial advisor, the nostalgia of Gateway PCs arriving in cow-print boxes, and the near-impossibility of canceling AOL. And just when things almost get sentimental, Marshall turns one of Gunter’s charitable acts into a joke. Love, loyalty pegs, and logistical complaints—just another Valentine’s Day with Northern Aggression.
