  1. A Routine Backache. An 11-Day Coma. Stage 4 Cancer. He’s 28.

    NOV 25

    A Routine Backache. An 11-Day Coma. Stage 4 Cancer. He’s 28.

Harry Lambert is 28 years old, a dad to two young daughters, and last year he walked into A&E with back pain. He expected antibiotics. Instead, he was hours away from kidney failure, poisoned from the inside, hallucinating, and being put into an induced coma on Christmas Day. When he woke up 11 days later — unable to walk, talk, or breathe on his own — the doctors delivered the news he hadn’t even been conscious to hear: Stage 4 lymphoma. What follows is a story that doesn’t feel real:  – misdiagnosis and delays that nearly cost him his life  – kidney shutdown and hallucinations before the coma  – full-body scans lit up “like a Dalmatian”  – chemo that didn’t work  – losing his vision for weeks  – sepsis striking out of nowhere  – preparing silent goodbyes to his children  – a compassionate-access drug worth £140,000 a cycle  – relapsing within a week of stopping  – a last-chance treatment designed for lung disease  – brain radiotherapy  – and finally, against every odds, full remission But this episode isn’t just survival.  It’s about what a second chance does to a man who thought he’d never see his children grow up. Harry talks plainly about life after the coma, how it feels to re-enter the world after months inside hospitals, and the way everything — work, money, priorities — collapses into clarity when you realise time is the only real currency. Today, he’s using that second chance for something bigger: raising money and delivering gifts for children fighting cancer, starting with a little girl named Betty who’s facing her seventh round of chemo. Harry is building a charity, one act of light at a time, because he refuses to waste the life he fought so hard to keep. This is the episode you don’t skip.  This is the episode you send to someone who needs perspective, strength, or proof that even in the darkest moments, people come back. 2. You Alright Mate? Redefining Success Before It Breaks You | Sam Thomas

    NOV 18

You Alright Mate? Redefining Success Before It Breaks You | Sam Thomas

Sam Thomas, founder of Different Hats and the You Alright Mate? campaign, sits down with us for a blunt conversation about men, money, and the moment success nearly killed him. At 40, after a decade of chasing the millionaire dream, he found himself crying in his car, convinced he’d failed at life. Walking back into the house to his kids’ hugs and his wife’s arms flipped the script: if success was measured in relationships instead of wealth, he was already rich. That realisation became the start of a mission to rewrite what “doing well” actually means. Sam unpacks that turning point, the suicidal thinking that led up to it, and how he rebuilt his life around love, presence, and “enough” instead of Lamborghinis and follower counts. We go into the damage done by the current definition of success, the role of social media in warping young minds, and why Year 10 classrooms still equate “making it” with fame and money. Sam explains his work in schools teaching emotional literacy, active listening, and the basics of talking about feelings without shame — and why that matters more than exam scores for the next generation. We then dig into the reality of money pressure: why lack of money keeps so many men in permanent fight-or-flight, why financial stress sits behind so many suicides, and how to hold ambition without letting it run your nervous system into the ground. Sam breaks down his You Alright Mate? movement, the Monday check-in ritual, the programmes he’s building for workplaces, and his belief that asking for help is courage, not weakness. It’s an honest, unpolished look at what happens when you stop saying “I’m fine” and start measuring life by love, presence, freedom, and the willingness to tell the truth about how you’re actually doing. 3. We Confront A One-Star Review And Reintroduce Ourselves To New Listeners

    NOV 11

We Confront A One-Star Review And Reintroduce Ourselves To New Listeners

A single review tried to sum us up with two words we don’t recognise: toxic masculinity. So we read it aloud, sat with the sting, and used it to restate our mission — be useful, be honest, and help people who are navigating the rough bits of real life. No gloss, no scripts, just two hosts telling the truth about grief, growth, and getting back up. Ash opens up about closing a 25-year family business, starting again with Aura Surfaces, and losing his dad — the man who taught him to live and love every day. That loss didn’t become content; it became context for daily action and open conversation. Chris shares his move from construction to TikTok live commerce and why family stays at the centre of every decision. Together, we dig into mental health, boundaries, and the courage it takes to shed people who root against you. Envy shrinks you. Support scales you. This community is built on the latter. We also lay out where we’re heading next: remote guests with big, honest stories — from cancer battles to parenting pivots — plus a 24-hour charity broadcast to turn talk into impact. Growth matters, but not at the cost of integrity. We’re open to aligned sponsors who believe in the mission, and we’re relying on organic support to reach people who need it most. If you’re new, start here to understand what we stand for. If you’ve been with us since the start, thank you for every share, review, and message.  Subscribe, leave a review on Apple Podcasts, and WhatsApp us your dilemmas on 07511 272 459.
