Exodus 3 — God sees, hears, and knows the suffering of his people, and he comes down to set them free. Lead Pastor Matt Beasley continues Forever With Us at Severns Valley. Tracing the story from the garden through Noah, Abraham, and Joseph into Egypt, we watch God stay with his people even in their rebellion. When Israel cries out under slavery, he calls an unlikely deliverer, Moses, and says he has seen, heard, and known their affliction. That same God came down in Jesus to redeem us, adopting us as sons and daughters and setting us free from a slavery we may not even recognize. A few things to carry into your week: • God isn't distant from suffering. He sees it, he hears it, and he knows it, and he comes down. • Slavery doesn't always look like the obvious struggles. Sometimes it's a resume of our own goodness that we're quietly trusting to save us. • Your freedom doesn't rest on your past faithfulness. The Spirit he sent into your heart cries "Abba, Father," even in your seasons of backsliding. • Like Moses, you don't have to be strong, bold, or impressive. God's deliverance shines through our weakness. "Where are you still looking to your own goodness, instead of the One who came down to set you free?"
