Jeanne-Mey Sun is Founder and Principal of JTNL Advisory, LLC, an independent firm that provides advisory and consulting services in the areas of energy transition, sustainability, and corporate strategy. Prior to that, she served as Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at NRG Energy, Inc., a $31 billion integrated power producer and energy services retailer. Before NRG, Jeanne-Mey was Executive, Energy Transition and Clean Energy Solutions at Baker Hughes Company, a $28 billion global energy technology company. Other roles at Baker Hughes included leading strategic growth initiatives, corporate strategy, and Gaffney-Cline & Associates’ business consulting practice. Prior to Baker Hughes, Jeanne-Mey was Vice President, Strategy at Sysco Corporation, an $81 billion global foodservice marketer, distributor, and supply chain company, and Principal at global management consultancy A.T. Kearney. Sun earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Economics in 1999, her M.A. in European Economic Studies from the College of Europe in Brugge, Belgium in 1993, and her B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the University of Toronto in 1991. Alumni of the Division of the Social Sciences are characterized by Chicago’s deep commitment to scientific analysis, methodological innovation, and the use of theory to extend the explanatory and predictive power of social research. Whether an MA or PhD graduate (or both), each takes those values into careers in the academy and in a broad range of sectors including banking and finance, technology, and social technology, consulting and market research, health fields, and government/policymaking, among others.
