Coming from someone who’s been fighting to be taken seriously by doctors regarding ongoing illness, this podcast is a balm to my soul. Loved the conversation about interviewing doctors before establishing care, so appreciated this discussion about race/color differences in beliefs and accessing care in the medical system, and this discussion of rest being “being on a meeting in bed” and forcible removal of the ability to be a perfectionist even when your brain and identity is still aligned with that desire to do well in the paradigms that exist—what a whole mood. On top of that, hearing the friendship between these two reminds me so comfortingly of my friendships with my spoonie pals, who listen to me vent, offer incredible advice and tips from along their paths of navigating life and careeer and relationships and health and medical issues. I, too, have been on the phone/facetime with my people in different time zones chatting and/or just being present as they rest/nap. And also the discussions of showing up for faith, ministry, activism, friendship, and other passions even when on limited spoons *chef’s kiss* I so feel that and am praying for us all to hit the spoon lottery, not just so we simply feel better, but so we can enjoy all the wonderful parts of life more. And even if that lottery moment never comes, we’re living it to the best any time we can and even when we’re living it to the worst XD we’re still badasses for existing and being here. <3 sending love and prayer and huge support for this effort. It kept me company and made me feel seen and heard!! -@funisanecessity
