In this primarily Mandarin Chinese episode, Jeffrey is joined by returning podcast guest, designer of the UP logo, and Sonicstride founder Jasmine Ow. Together, they sit down with Xinghe (星合), a professional juggler, circus performer, workshop facilitator, and founder of 合室 HHHub, a creative space in Taipei. Xinghe admits that he's never been particularly fond of uncertainty. Yet he's come to realize something important: without uncertainty, his world would remain very, very small. He shares his journey of finding confidence and discovering his own path through circus and juggling, and how these practices opened up a world of opportunities he might never have imagined. We also explore why juggling is such a powerful metaphor for uncertainty. Every throw involves letting go, every catch requires adjustment, and every dropped ball creates another opportunity to try again. Recently, Xinghe took another leap into uncertainty by opening his own space in Taipei. Through workshops and classes, he invites others to embrace failure, explore their physicality, practice juggling, collaborate, and discover new possibilities through movement and play. In this conversation, we also explore what it means to become a teacher and guide, how to balance digital minimalism with meaningful in-person experiences, and why reconnecting with our bodies can help us reconnect with ourselves.
