Love With Nowhere to Go with Tara Porter

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here, excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ What if grief was never something to get over, but something you were meant to learn how to carry? This week, I'm joined by Tara Porter, a certified grief coach who has walked through profound loss of her own, including the death of her daughter Harper and, a year later, her mother, and turned that lived experience into a calling. Through her Instagram platform and community On Fridays We Dance, Tara has touched thousands of women, and this past May she led her first in-person grief retreat with fourteen women in a room together. In this conversation, we talk about why grief and joy were never meant to be opposites, how the body signals grief long before the mind catches up, and how midlife grief shows up in ways we don't always name, like the quiet loss of identity that comes when children grow up and move on. Tara reminds us that grief doesn't come with a finish line, and that you don't have to wait until you're "done" grieving to laugh again, to dance, and to feel alive.  You can find Tara and her Fridays We Dance community on Instagram @taraporterofficial Website: www.magnoliarising.ca CONNECT WITH DENISE DRINKWALTER: Website: denisedrinkwalter.com Instagram: @thethriveafter45podcast Join the IGNITE: The Inner Uprising™ waitlist: ignite2026.lovable.app If this episode moved you, please take a moment to leave a review, it helps this show and its message reach more women exactly when they need it. Your Body Isn't Betraying YOU with Angel Altman

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ tickets are here - excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ For nearly 30 years, Angel Altman has stood at the bedside as a nurse. But some of her deepest education came from a different kind of classroom: autoimmune disease, hormone shifts, menopause, chronic stress, and a body that kept sending signals she had to learn to read. In this episode of Thrive After 45™, Denise Drinkwalter sits down with Angel, LPN nurse, herbalist, health educator, and founder of Tea of Life Apothecary, to talk about what's really happening underneath the symptoms so many women are told to just live with. Angel breaks down why liver health is one of the biggest drivers of how intensely a woman experiences perimenopause and menopause, how stress and dysregulation can be passed down cellularly for generations before we're even born, and why the nervous system, not willpower, is where lasting change actually begins. She also shares the simple self-love scale she uses with every client, and why learning to apologize to your own body may be the fastest way to calm it. One Question at a Time with Ellen M Busch

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here - excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ What if the body keeps score, and the mind decides who wins? This week on Thrive After 45, Denise Drinkwalter sits down with Ellen M Busch, a former EMT and hyperbaric technician turned certified Unbeatable Mind coach, author, and speaker. Ellen's story starts young: diagnosed as dyslexic at six, written off by her own school system, and told her future was finding a husband rather than an education. That early wound set the stage for decades of being a target, first of bullies, then narcissistic managers, two stalkers, and a marriage that turned violent. Ellen walks Denise through the thirteen year path out, from her surrender point to years of therapy, EMDR, and somatic work, to training for a decade with retired Navy SEAL Commander Mark Divine and his Five Mountain Program, which works the physical, mental, emotional, intuitional, and kokoro (the merging of heart and mind) simultaneously. She talks candidly about her Sheepdog Training, three days of firearms, martial arts, and catastrophic injury training alongside retired Navy SEALs, and the moment an instructor told her to stop apologizing, a lesson that later showed up when she faced down a threatening stranger on a Colorado sidewalk and walked away untouched. This conversation covers trauma recovery, the value of a woman's wisdom, boundary setting as an ongoing practice rather than a one time decision, and Ellen's father's phrase that became her life's compass: one question at a time. Proof Over Permission with Alexandra Dotcheva

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here, excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ We spend so much energy looking for the moment that broke us, when the real work only starts the day we stop looking outward for the blame. In this episode, I sit with Alexandra Dotcheva, a former professional violinist turned nurse, real estate investor, and martial artist, and the author of It Really Is Simple, A Holistic Approach to Self-Confidence. Alexandra played violin for 29 years, starting at age six in Bulgaria, earning her master's and doctoral degrees in the instrument, before a 2008 breakdown at 32 became the crossroads that redirected her entire life. She rebuilt herself from the ground up, training as a nurse, building a real estate portfolio that produces passive income, and earning black belts in martial arts, a dream her father shut down when she was a child. We talk about the 20 year battle with confidence she'd never spoken about publicly until now, why curiosity has to stay at a child's level even as accountability grows into an adult one, and why she believes the worst things that happen to us, we do to ourselves. You can learn more about her work and find her book at holisticselfconfidence.com. Find the Hole in the Hull with Barbara Wiseman

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here, excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ There is a specific kind of tired that comes from solving problems you never actually looked at, patching the same leak over and over and wondering why it keeps coming back. In this episode, I sit with Barbara Wiseman, co-founder and president of the Earth Organization, a science-based nonprofit working in nine countries. Long before sustainability was a hashtag, Barbara was on the ground in the 1970s helping resettle 60,000 refugees. In 2003 she co-founded the Earth Organization with her friend, conservationist Lawrence Anthony, whose bond with a herd of rescued wild elephants became the bestselling book The Elephant Whisperer. Since then she has helped clean up oil spills across 70 countries, located hidden water in drought-stricken land, and rebuilt a zoo in the middle of a war zone, all through one rule she keeps coming back to: look, don't just listen. We talk about the hole in the hull, the one real problem underneath all the deck chairs we keep rearranging, and why she believes happiness was never in the arrival, it was in the moving toward. Listen With Your Eyes with Dave Williams

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here - excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ Have you ever finally reached the thing you worked so hard for, and it still didn't feel like enough? That's the exact place this episode lives. Denise sits down with Dave Williams, a number one bestselling author, international speaker, and multi-award-winning life coach and leadership strategist who has spent more than 40 years helping people move past what's actually holding them back. Dave and Denise dig into what real self-leadership looks like, why authenticity is so rare even though everyone claims to want it, and how to build a values-based life instead of one lived on autopilot. This conversation also goes somewhere deeply personal. In 2015, Dave lost his partner Helen suddenly to a heart attack, just two days after he'd started shopping for an engagement ring. He talks openly about hitting rock bottom in 2016, the coaching question that became the turning point of his life, and how he learned to carry Helen forward with him instead of leaving her behind. It's an honest look at grief, midlife reinvention, and what it takes to lead yourself before you can lead anyone else. No Regrets, Only Resets with Nhys Glover

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here - excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ What happens when the identity you spent a lifetime building gets taken from you in a single day? Nhys Glover was a head teacher at one of Australia's most prestigious schools, after years working in education, including five years inside a medium security prison. Then everything changed at once: her 20 year old son died suddenly from an epileptic seizure, and on that very same day she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In this episode, Nhys shares how she quietly began processing her grief and her illness through fiction, without realizing what she was doing until her oncologist asked why she was recovering so fast, and how that discovery led her toward writing to heal, a full reinvention in England, and eventually 75 published novels reaching more than 100,000 readers. You can find her full catalog at findabook.info. We talk about walking away from a UK school system that didn't align with her values, surviving a second cancer diagnosis, the shadow work that helped her reclaim parts of herself she'd disowned decades earlier, and how she's learned to stay sovereign while working with AI instead of quietly handing over her voice to it. She also shares the story behind Greta, the pirate radio hippie avatar who helped pull her out of her own rut, and her latest book, Authenticity as Taught by the Machine. This is a conversation about resets, the ones we choose and the ones life forces on us, and why the second half of life doesn't have to be a consolation prize. Built for Someone Else with Cheryl Gordon

💬 message Denise https://ignite2026.lovable.app/ Join this IGNITE: The Inner Uprising ™ waitlist here - excited to see you in real life 😍❤️ Cheryl Gordon has been teaching yoga for nearly 30 years and touched over 10,000 lives along the way, but when menopause arrived at the start of COVID, the practice she'd built her whole career on suddenly didn't fit. In this conversation, Cheryl shares how she rebuilt her personal practice and her teaching from the ground up, discovering along the way that midlife women aren't just looking to sleep better or lose weight. They're looking to come home to themselves. Cheryl and Denise talk about the real reasons behind menopausal weight gain, why the number on the scale is just a data point and not a verdict on your worth, how relationships and community naturally shift in this season of life, and why self-care often needs to look different than a spa day or a glass of wine. Cheryl also leads a 60-second mindfulness practice you can do anywhere, and explains the science behind why these small resets actually help reverse the effects of chronic stress on the body. Cheryl offers a free webinar on how to reset midlife weight gain using yoga and mindfulness: https://mailchi.mp/cherylgordonyt/reset-midlife-weight.
