InSight Out

Devin Almonte

Think, See, and Live Differently. As God reveals His truth and removes the blinders that keep us from seeing clearly, He calls us not only to reflect on these truths when we rise, when we lie down, and in all we do, but by His Spirit to proclaim the gospel and live in faithful obedience in every area of life. Faith In Everything. As Deuteronomy 6:6-7 reminds us, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Faith transforms us from the inside out. As the gospel we proclaim takes root, it changes how we see ourselves, others, and the world. And it becomes evident in what we think, what we say, and what we do. This is more than a podcast; it’s a way of life. A call to see life InSight Out; to live as we were created to live, to flourish as God intends, and to build our lives on the unshakable foundation of His Word. Because how we live matters.

Are We Helping People or Funding Their GoFundMe Lifestyle? | The InSight Out Show | Ep. 141

A high school teacher in Iowa allegedly offered students extra credit for donating to a GoFundMe connected to her mission trip. The school fired her, but the story raises a bigger question than whether grades and donations should ever mix: when did asking other people to fund the things we want become so normal? Crowdfunding can be a beautiful way to carry someone through illness, disaster, job loss, or a crisis they never saw coming. But compassion and responsibility aren't opposites. Sometimes circumstances change, and our lifestyle may need to change with them. So where is the line between helping someone carry a genuine burden and helping them avoid carrying a load that belongs to them? Scripture (NIV): Galatians 6:2, 5 – “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ… for each one should carry their own load.” Reflection Questions: When someone asks for financial help, how do we practice generosity without removing healthy responsibility? If your own circumstances changed tomorrow, what would you be willing to give up before asking others to help maintain your lifestyle? Behind the Food Label: The Bioengineered Loophole | The InSight Out Show | Ep. 139

There may be food in your pantry made from genetically engineered crops without the words “bioengineered” appearing plainly on the package. Under current USDA rules, disclosures can take several forms, including text, the USDA symbol, an electronic or digital link, or text-message instructions. And ingredients derived from bioengineered crops may be treated differently when modified genetic material is no longer detectable. That raises a bigger question than whether genetically engineered food is “good” or “bad.” How much information should consumers have when deciding what to buy? In this episode, we look at the USDA labeling system, the federal court challenge that forced the agency to reconsider parts of its disclosure rules, and past cases that show why testing and transparency matter. The goal isn’t fear. It’s discernment: paying attention, asking better questions, and doing something with what we learn. What does faithful action look like when we’ll never have perfect information? Scripture (NIV): James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” Reflection Questions: When you learn something new that affects your everyday choices, how do you move from simply knowing it to acting wisely? How can we practice discernment without letting uncertainty turn into fear? 👉 Take Action: Want to weigh in when the USDA opens public comment on the new bioengineered food labeling rules? What happens when our money is no longer tied to anything real? Today on InSight Out, Devin Almonte explores Florida’s bold new law allowing gold and silver to be used as legal tender—and why this is about much more than coins and currency. It’s about trust, stewardship, and the unseen forces shaping our economy and our faith. From the collapse of the gold standard to biblical commands about honest scales, we'll look at what happens when a nation’s monetary system breaks down and how believers can respond not with panic, but with preparation and wisdom. In this episode, we’ll discuss: What Florida’s House Bill 999 actually means—and why it mattersWhy fiat currency quietly punishes savers and rewards overspendingWhat Scripture says about honest weights and measuresHow inflation functions like a hidden taxWhy preparing like Noah isn’t panic—it’s obedienceHow to trust God while being wise about your resources This is about stewardship.
