    The Wrap up

In this episode of The Disappointing Friend Podcast , we’re doing something a little different… again. It’s the final episode of the season—yep, this is The Wrap Up. After a season full of ghostings, growth, and group chat chaos, Fatuma and Juliet are pressing pause—but not for good. We’ll be back later this year, bigger, better, and with even more friendship mess to unpack. But before we take our break, we’re slowing down to reflect on what this season has meant. We get into the highs (Fatuma’s inbox exploding, unexpected reunions, and our one dedicated listener in South Korea), the lows (burnout, editing fatigue, and Fatuma learning—slowly—that criticism might not actually kill her), and everything in between. Juliet opens up about some old hurt she’s finally ready to release, and Fatuma reflects on the whirlwind of connection this podcast has sparked. And of course, we hand out well-deserved flowers—especially to Juliet, for her heroic late-night editing marathons. (Fatuma showed up with snacks. Sometimes.) This episode is part celebration, part therapy session, and 100% love letter to all of you who have been listening, laughing, crying, and cringe-nodding along with us. We’re so proud of what we’ve built—and we’re just getting started. 🎧 Grab your tea, your journal, or just your headphones. Let’s wrap this thing up. For now. ––– Don’t forget to rate & follow the show. We’ll be back later this year! The First Friend: Reintroducing Fatuma Ndenzako

Welcome to the second episode of The Disappointing Friend Podcast! In today’s episode, we dive deep into a topic that's close to our hearts – the importance of finding your first true friend and how that connection shapes the person you become. Our host, Fatuma Ndenzako, takes us on a personal journey through her childhood, navigating the complexities of being an African migrant in Australia in the early 90s. Fatuma reflects on the struggles of exclusion and racism, and how finding her first best friend gave her the feeling of being seen and heard for the very first time. This relationship was a turning point, helping her feel understood and supported in a way that had been missing before. She shares how this bond not only changed her childhood but also influenced the kind of friend she is today. Through this conversation, we explore a powerful theme: how do we become the friends we are? What shapes our friendship patterns, and how do they carry through into our adult lives? When you find that one special person who truly understands you, the world feels a little more invincible, and you feel unstoppable. Fatuma’s story is a reminder of the profound impact friendship can have on our sense of self and belonging. So, grab a cup of something warm, and join us as we reflect on the connections that define us, on this heartfelt episode of The Disappointing Friend Podcast.
