I Thought I Was Losing My Mind

What if nothing is wrong with you? What if you're simply grieving? After my son Nate died, I spent months believing I was falling apart. I couldn't remember why I walked into a grocery store. I questioned my memory. I felt guilty the first time I laughed. I watched people slowly disappear from my life. I kept wondering why I couldn't "get back to normal." Looking back, I wasn't broken. I wasn't weak. I wasn't grieving the wrong way. I was grieving. In this episode of Grief Loss & Life, I share the ten truths I wish someone had told me during my first year after losing my son. These aren't coping skills or inspirational quotes. They're the lessons I learned through years of living with profound loss. In this episode we discuss: • Why you'll never become the person you were before loss • Why grief affects your memory and concentration • Why the funeral isn't the hardest day • The guilt that comes with laughing again • Why the second year can feel even harder than the first • How ordinary moments become the biggest triggers • Why being called "strong" isn't always helpful • Why healing isn't betrayal • Why I'll never "get over" my son • How joy slowly finds its way back without replacing love If you've ever wondered... "Am I grieving the right way?" This episode is for you. 💜 If this conversation helped you feel less alone, please subscribe, leave a comment, and share it with someone who may need it today.

10 Grief Myths I Don't Believe Anymore (And Maybe You Shouldn't Either)

Have you ever heard someone say... "Time heals all wounds." "Everything happens for a reason." "At least they're no longer suffering." "You just need closure." After losing my son, I realized many of the things people say about grief aren't comforting—they're simply myths that can make grieving people feel even more alone. In this episode of Grief Loss & Life, I'm sharing 10 grief myths I don't believe anymore after living through profound loss. These aren't opinions from a textbook. They're lessons learned from years of surviving child loss, supporting thousands of grieving parents, and discovering that grief rarely follows the rules society expects. Whether you've lost a child, spouse, parent, sibling, friend, or someone else you love, I hope this episode reminds you that you're not grieving wrong. In this episode we discuss: ✔ Why time doesn't magically heal grief ✔ Why closure isn't necessary for healing ✔ Why "moving on" isn't the goal ✔ Why grief doesn't happen in predictable stages ✔ Why healing and forgetting are completely different things ✔ Why being strong all the time is exhausting ✔ Why grief changes your identity ✔ Why your timeline doesn't have to match anyone else's ✔ Why joy and sadness can exist together ✔ What I wish every grieving person knew Grief changes us. It changes our relationships. It changes our priorities. It changes how we see the future. But that doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. If you've ever felt guilty because your grief doesn't look like everyone else's...this episode is for you. ❤️ If this episode helped you: • Subscribe for new episodes every week. • Share this episode with someone who is grieving. • Leave a comment and tell me: Which grief myth do YOU no longer believe? I'd love to hear your story. 📚 Helpful Resources 🌐 Website: https://www.griefandhealingwithchris.com 🎙️ Podcast: Grief Loss & Life 📺 Recovered Life Network: https://rltv.me/griefhealing 📘 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/griefandhealingwithchris 👥 Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/griefandhealingwithchris 🎵 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@grieflosslifewithchris 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/grieflosslife

I Just Wanted To Know He Got There OK

A few years after my son Nate died, something happened that changed the way I think about grief, love, and the possibility that our loved ones may still be closer than we realize. In this episode, I’m sharing some of the most personal stories I’ve never fully explained. The red notebook I almost threw away. A grieving parent who somehow knew about a young man in the hospital. My three-year-old grandson describing things he should never have known. My mother’s experience in a hospital room shortly before she died. The strange 3:02 AM bed-jumping story that even my husband witnessed. And the message I received at a Theresa Caputo event only twelve days after losing Nate. This episode isn’t about proving an afterlife. It isn’t about convincing anyone to believe what I believe. It’s simply a conversation about the experiences that brought comfort during some of the hardest years of my life. Some people will call them signs. Others will call them coincidences. Others will call them grief. I’m okay with all of those possibilities. What matters most is this: Love doesn’t end when a heartbeat does. If you’ve ever had a dream, a sign, a coincidence, or an experience after losing someone you love, I’d love to hear your story.  Grief, Loss & Life: A Podcast for Healing Parents Honest conversations about grief, healing, and life after losing a child.  Website:griefandhealingwithchris.com Join the Laugh.Cry.Scream Community:https://www.facebook.com/groups/laughcryscreampodcast Follow Chris:Facebook: Grief and Healing with ChrisTikTok: @griefandhealingwithchris
