    Faith Like a Child

In this message from Mark 10, Pastor Matt Troyer explores Jesus' surprising teaching about who can enter the Kingdom of God. As parents bring children to Jesus, the disciples attempt to turn them away, but Jesus responds by welcoming them and declaring that the Kingdom belongs to those who receive it like a child. Throughout the sermon, Pastor Matt challenges the common belief that people earn God's favor through good behavior, religious performance, or personal achievement. Instead, he emphasizes that salvation is received through humility, dependence, and faith. Using Jesus' interaction with children and the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, the message contrasts two approaches to God: trusting in your own goodness and accomplishmentstrusting completely in God's mercy and grace The sermon repeatedly points listeners back to one central truth: The Kingdom of God is entered by mercy, not merit. Pastor Matt explains that children bring nothing to earn acceptance—they simply receive. In the same way, every believer must come before God recognizing their need for grace rather than relying on religious accomplishments or self-righteousness. The message concludes with a clear gospel invitation, reminding listeners that salvation is not something we achieve but something we receive through Jesus Christ. The takeaway is clear: No one enters God's Kingdom because they are good enough. We enter because God is merciful enough, and we receive that mercy with the humble faith of a child.
