Are Ghosts an echo of cultural trauma?

Historical ghost stories in the United Kingdom act as a cultural "scar" or a faded mythic memory on the landscape. Rather than necessarily proving the existence of restless spirits, these legends represent a folkloric response to past violations of social consensus, cultural stress, or shared national traumas- such as armed conflict, religious upheavals, or severe social inequality. Beardo on Controversy, Debunking & Real Paranormal Research

In this episode of Seriously Strangk from ASSAP, host Kristian Lander talks with Beardo (BeardoGetsScared), the well-known paranormal YouTuber and investigator known for his skeptical, evidence-focused approach with a sense of humour and a mission to call out poor practices in the field. Beardo discusses double standards in paranormal content, the reliability (or lack of it) of common ghost-hunting gadgets, residential investigations, the rise of AI and deepfakes, psychic mediums, shows like Help My House is Haunted, historical research, and the tension between genuine inquiry and entertainment. He also answers live audience questions on topics ranging from the Lady in the Bay Window case to 30 East Drive hypotheses and the future of evidence in a world of easy fakes. A thoughtful, no-nonsense conversation for anyone interested in the paranormal beyond the hype. Bridging the Spectral & the Stellar: Non-Human Intelligence

Featured guests are Ash Ellis and Greg Thomlinson take us on a fascinating journey that links classic ghost research and modern non-human intelligence encounters. Might they be investigating the very same phenomena?Drawing on historical figures such as Jürgenson and Raudive, the Estes Method, trance states, and contemporary field observations, they explore whether the same underlying intelligence (or trickster-like phenomenon) may be at work across both hauntings and high-strangeness UFO cases. Drawing on the pioneering work of Jürgenson, Raudive and others, radio-sweep techniques, trance states and field observations, they ask whether the same curious (or trickster-like) intelligence might be answering us across both spectral and stellar territories.🔔 Subscribe for regular webinars and podcasts!Like 👍, comment 💬, and share your own eerie experiences in the comments.🌐 Join & Learn MoreBecome an ASSAP Member: https://www.assap.ac.uk🎙️ Listen on the GoAudio Podcasts: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Amazon Music and moreVideo: Youtube | Spotify | Rumble | OdyseeSearch "Seriously Strange"📱 Connect With UsX / Twitter: @ASSAParanormalFacebook Group: ASSAP Group Facebook: ASSAP British UFOlogy GroupInstagram and Threads: ASSAP_Paranormal🗣️ Hosted by: Kristian Lander & Dr Mike Benbough-Jackson📅 Recorded Live
