Recovering From Sexual Trauma Without A Safe Space

We close the numb arc by telling the truth about healing after sexual trauma when nobody in your life feels safe. I walk through why “good enough” keeps you stuck, how numbness protects you, and the small steps that help you build real safety for your future self. • the loneliness of performing around unsafe people • the “good enough” trap and why the bar gets so low • fear, conditioning, and survival responses that keep you stuck • what it looks like when partners, friends, family, or religion minimize trauma   Work With Me Individually  I offer trauma-informed therapy and coaching for high-achieving women navigating: • Complex trauma • Late-diagnosed ADHD or autism • Nervous system dysregulation • Relational pattern healing If you’d prefer one-on-one support, book a free 15-minute consultation here: http://linktr.ee/EmpoweringWellnessHub Good Music for Healing 🎵 **Divine Woman Playlist (Apple Music):** https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/divine-woman/pl.u-leyl096uMoD885j Episodes Mentioned in this Episode Your Freeze Response Was Survival Not Consent https://www.buzzsprout.com/2467345/episodes/19054178-your-freeze-response-was-survival-not-consent Honoring the Losses & Heaviness after Sexual Trauma https://www.buzzsprout.com/2467345/episodes/19093408-honoring-the-losses-heaviness-after-sexual-trauma Your Body Is Protecting You From Stillness https://www.buzzsprout.com/2467345/episodes/19127184-your-body-is-protecting-you-from-stillness You’re not alone.  We’re healing together. Honoring the Losses & Heaviness after Sexual Trauma

Grief can rise when numbness finally softens, and that doesn’t mean we’re failing or sliding backward. We name the double grief of healing after sexual trauma and practice a slower, body-based way to carry the ache without turning recovery into a performance.  • grief as a sign of waking up, not regressing  • double grief after sexual trauma: what was taken and who we must become  • the “ever-present ache” as an echo of loss, not proof of brokenness  • why healing is not a checklist for high achievers and people pleasers  • five steps to stay with numbness: name, feel, compassion, breathe, permission  Work With Me Individually (Texas Residents) I offer trauma-informed therapy for high-achieving women navigating: • Complex trauma • Late-diagnosed ADHD or autism • Nervous system dysregulation • Relational pattern healing If you’d prefer one-on-one support, book a free 15-minute consultation here: http://linktr.ee/EmpoweringWellnessHub Good Music for Healing 🎵 **Divine Woman Playlist (Apple Music):** https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/divine-woman/pl.u-leyl096uMoD885j Episodes Mentioned in this Episode Epi 55 Your Freeze Response was Survival not Consent https://www.buzzsprout.com/2467345/episodes/19054178-your-freeze-response-was-survival-not-consent  Bonus Epi: Holding Space for the Numbness after Sexual Trauma https://www.buzzsprout.com/2467345/episodes/19058743-bonus-epi-holding-space-for-the-numbness-after-sexual-trauma You’re not alone. BONUS EPI: Holding Space for the Numbness after Sexual Trauma

We slow everything down and meet numbness with respect, treating it as a protective boundary rather than proof we are broken. I explain the freeze response, offer body-based practices to build safety, and end with a guided sanctuary meditation where numbness is welcome. In this Epi:  • reframing emotional numbness as a biological gift  • understanding freeze response and why the body shuts down  • practicing supportive touch to create a bridge back to the body  • speaking to the inner protector part with gratitude and clear promises  • using practical tools like a no decision hour and warmth  • trying a thank you journal when feelings are unavailable  • setting boundaries with social media to protect peace  • grounding in safety first and seeking help when needed  Work With Me Individually I offer trauma-informed services for high-achieving women navigating: • Complex trauma • Late-diagnosed ADHD or autism • Nervous system dysregulation • Relational pattern healing If you’d prefer one-on-one support, book a free 15-minute consultation here: http://linktr.ee/EmpoweringWellnessHub Good Music for Healing 🎵 **Divine Woman Playlist (Apple Music):** https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/divine-woman/pl.u-leyl096uMoD885j Episodes Mentioned in this Episode Epi 55 Your Freeze Response was Survival not Consent https://www.buzzsprout.com/2467345/episodes/19054178-your-freeze-response-was-survival-not-consent You’re not alone.  We’re healing together. Your Freeze Response Was Survival Not Consent

We start season two with a slow return to the body and a clear truth: you were not broken and you did not fail. I name numbness and freeze for what they are, explain why survival can look like compliance or dissociation, and share five gentle steps to begin feeling again at your pace.  • a short grounding to notice breath and tension  • the core message that your response is survival  • the spectrum of sexual trauma beyond “movie script” scenarios  • why guilt and shame cling to freeze and dissociation  • how fight, flight, freeze, and fawn actually work  • why numbness is protective and can soften with safety  • five practical steps to build micro connection  • letting numbness act as a boundary and honoring “not yet”  • what the season will explore next, including rage as information  Share this episode with someone who may need to hear this.
