    51. Did Jesus Lie to His Brothers?

One conversation in the Gospel of John could give the impression that Jesus lied to His brothers. But that can't be right--can it? If Jesus told a lie, we've got huge theological problems on our hands! Find out more about John 7:1-10 on this episode.  Find a transcript in this app or at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WSdcv72JfgkjxuY2lpSd4ig37N58cOxm8UTtgFXSksU/edit?usp=sharing

    50. Answering a Terrible Take on the Rapture

The Skeptic Pastor on Facebook believes the Rapture was invented by John Darby in the 1840s. Should you? Is belief in a Rapture--even a pre-trib Rapture--more ancient than that, or is it a relatively modern invention? Find out more in this episode! 49. Putting Alcohol Under the Influence of Scripture

Christians have embraced varying convictions on drinking alcohol. What is a permissible conviction on this issue? Do the Scriptures require total abstinence? If not, what guidance do they give us if we choose to drink? Find out in this episode! 48. Does the Bible Condone Slavery? Part 2: The New Testament

If Christianity opposes slavery as strongly as Christians say it does, then we might expect the New Testament to sound like a sermon from a fiery abolitionist. That's not exactly what we find, so what does that mean? Does the New Testament condone slavery? No! Find out why in this episode. 47. Does the Bible Condone Slavery? Part 1: The Law of Moses

Critics of Scripture allege that it condones slavery--but is this true? If not, what are we to make of the servitude laws in the Law of Moses? And what about those troubling passages--like a command about a father selling his daughter as a "slave?" Find the answers to these questions and more in this episode of the podcast. 46. Hebrews 6: A Warning We'd Better Not Ignore--Eternal Security, Part 9

Hebrews 6:1-8 is perhaps the most hotly-debated passage in discussions of eternal security. We must study it, of course, but we cannot make such a study a matter for the intellect alone. Our hearts must hear the profound warning that is intended to send believers pressing on toward maturity. Find out more in this episode! 45. If I Can't Lose Salvation, Why Should I Be Holy? Eternal Security, Part 8

The most common criticism of eternal security is that the doctrine hands us a license to sin. If I can't lose Heaven, it is said, then I might as well live like Hell! Does this criticism hold true? Are there still compelling reasons to serve God even if my salvation is secure? Yes! Find out what they are in this episode. 44. Finding Assurance of Salvation--Eternal Security, Part 7

It's not much practical use to believe in eternal security if you're not sure that YOU are saved! Affirming eternal security is one thing; finding assurance of salvation is another. So how can we find assurance of salvation? Learn how in this episode!
