    Our Journey in Christ

2 Corinthians 4:16-18  Pastor Cory ends the 4th chapter of Second Corinthians with a message that is both encouraging and convicting. Encouraging on the note that this world cannot touch us when we look past the temporal trials and obstacles to the eternal glories of Christ. Convicting because we realize that we have this eternal hope and strength yet we constantly take our eyes and hearts off of Him and thus succumb to the weight of this world. Compared to the weight of His glory, this temporary pain that we face is, as Paul puts it, "a light momentary affliction..." Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. For January and beyond, we will be focusing on the Vision of the church, praying that God will help us to reach the Shumont community and to grow as a church. Pastor Cory is also making his way through the book of Ephesians in his messages, but is taking a break from that as well during this season. We at Bald Mountain Baptist Church are so glad you have joined us here, and our prayer is that you are blessed by this message! The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel! Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Isaiah 42:10-11 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Troy Westmoreland and Cory Martinez are the co-pastors of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. They alternate on a semi-regular basis, and our prayer is that their insights from the Word of God may richly bless all those who stop by our neck of the woods!  Please feel free to reach out to us through their email if you have any questions, concerns, prayer requests, encouragements, etc.: t.westmoreland22@fruitland.edu c.martinez22@fruitland.edu

What It Takes To Trust God

Proverbs 30:1-6 Pastor Troy is back in the pulpit this morning after some time away with a strong message out of the book of Proverbs! Many people see Proverbs as a book of dos and don'ts, but Troy tells us that is so much more. It is the roadmap to a faithful and fruitful Christian life! The beginning of Proverbs chapter 30 gives us an outline for what we must do in order to truly lean upon God like we are supposed to. Rather than running to our own wisdom, if we truly see who God is in the light of His Word we will trust Him all the more! Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. For January and beyond, we will be focusing on the Vision of the church, praying that God will help us to reach the Shumont community and to grow as a church. Christ in Us, The Hope of Glory

2 Corinthians 4:7-15 Pastor Cory delivered a powerful message yesterday morning about what it means to having our Lord and Savior living within us. In ourselves, we have no hope, We have no power or lasting strength apart from Him. We are but earthen vessels, jars of clay, fitted for the masters use. With Christ within us, our hope is no longer of, from, or in this world or in ourselves. Let us all strive to boast in our weaknesses that the strength of Christ may be magnified in our mortal bodies! Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. Rich But Dead

Luke 16:19-31 Our brother Will Dicus brought an excellent message this morning from the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. These men could not have been more different. One was rich and one was poor. One had everything in this world and the other had nothing. Yet when their life ended, each man's role was reverse. Join us as Will dives into what it truly means to be rich in Christ and not to pursue the things of this world. Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. A Reason to Continue

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 Pastor Cory brought an incredible and timely message today. The devil wants nothing more than to get God's people to lose heart. Paul sets himself up as the example of how never to give up no matter the opposition. As a man who had the world, the flesh, and the devil against him and his gospel work, he understood that the mercy and grace of God was sufficient to carry him through no matter what was thrown his way. If Paul could carry the light of Christ and not faint, then we can too! Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. The Message of Jesus Christ to His Church

Revelation 1-3 Pastor Troy brought us a final message this morning regarding the churches of Revelation. To wrap up this series, he says that all of Jesus' letters to the churches can be boiled down to one point. "Repent." We have a church in America that is declining. All the while we are praying for revival in this country, we have churches full of people who are more concerned with comfort than conviction. God is not going to pour out revival upon a people who are unwilling to pursue Him with zeal and devotion. Revival begins with repentance. Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. For January and beyond, we will be focusing on the Vision of the church, praying that God will help us to reach the Shumont community and to grow as a church. The Lord is Our Deliverance

Psalm 91:1-16 Pastor Cory brings a powerful message today out of one of the later Psalms in the book. The writer offers a picture of God as a refuge and shield against all enemies and evil. We must run to this deliverance, we must pursue His secret place, His rest in our lives. He offers complete freedom from sin and death, as well as Divine protection against His wrath poured out upon the world. Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. For January and beyond, we will be focusing on the Vision of the church, praying that God will help us to reach the Shumont community and to grow as a church. Signs of the Shepherd

Psalm 23:1-6 Pastor Troy brought his message for the commencement of our Emerald Crossing VBS. The curriculum focused on Psalm 23, so Troy tied everything together with his sermon this morning. The are 12 signs in this Psalm that the Lord is indeed your Shepherd. As we go through the passage, take a genuine look at your life to see if it reflects that you are truly in the flock of God. Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season.
